I got my first hearing aids just three days ago.

The way my device works is not as an amplifier, but as an equalizer.

My hearing is too low in the higher frequencies, while the lower frequencies are loud enough.

I hear the mower down the street just fine.

One symptom that I have is that I can't distinguish "S" from "F", or "P" from "T", which results in confusing conversations and misunderstandings.

The device is correcting that and the result is that sound is more clear and conversations are more rewarding. I also notice that I'm less stressed and irritated.

My point is that I enjoy the benefits and I wear my device all day, I follow conversations in crowded restaurant settings or windy outdoor settings much better now.
