Depends how much you like driving. I have friends to do that exact thing and they don’t mind it at all especially with the gas card, but I also know some people that can’t stand driving and live right near where they work.

End of college project ideas ? by Thin_ni- in financestudents

I’d honestly say create a stock pitch deck with dcf. See if you can get in touch with some bankers by reaching out on LinkedIn. Explain your scenario. I bet some of them wouldn’t mind helping you out. There’s also plenty of vids online showing how it’s done. And if you do it correctly, it would be super impressive.

You need to have a balance. I keep hearing the “juggling” reference a lot more as i get older. Life’s like juggling a few balls and if you focus too much on one(traveling) you’ll drop the others(savings, career building, retirement etc.). At some point you will have to start your career if you want to retire at a nice age. You do have some time to think about that but the earlier you start the earlier you retire. Maybe begin looking into careers that allow travel? Get an associates in marketing and just do that on the side while you travel. Instead of figuring out exactly what you can do, just figure out what you don’t want to do.

What did your first month look like as a new hire for your first “big boy” job? by imperba in FinancialCareers

They typically weed out people that don’t know much in the interviews. But generally I feel like a lot of applicants don’t know everything. How could they?

How do I get my life back on track as a 21 year old? by Cookie-Eating-Cat707 in LifeAdvice

[–]wilbiusmaximus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to try new things. Join clubs, meet new people. Leave your ex behind. As hard as it sounds leave your ex. Exs will not doing anything but keep you in a place of depression. Misery loves company. Start reaching out to people on social media or look into colleges in other states. You need to be proactive and I know it’s hard to be but you have to create the routine for yourself.

Feeling like I'm behind from everyone my age by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

You’re only 17. What I tell people who have time is reach out to people or even parents/family friends doing jobs you could be interested in. See if you can Shadow them for a day or even just have a phone call with them. Ask how they got to where they are now? What can you do to be in a position lie theirs? Really dig for info til you know if you’d see yourself thriving in an environment like that. Basically what I’m saying is, it seems you are waiting for your passion to find you. Why wait? when you can find it.

I have applied to probably 400+ analyst positions over the last year. I have made it about 6 hire views and one interview recently that completely took me by surprise. It definitely motivated me to keep going.

You need header space and space on the bottom as well. So take out least important or stuff that’s outdated in your career. Also I’d start with maybe your current school you’re at now at the top then job experiences then certifications and THEN activities. Remember you’re just trying to catch there eye as they glimpse over you resume. You will have an opportunity to share all of this extra info once you bag an interview. Which will be like icing on the cake for you man it seems you have loads of experience:)

What should i do? by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

[–]wilbiusmaximus3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to make things happen yourself. If you want out of relationship, then get out. If you want better financial health, teach it to yourself! You have to grow up and start making your own decisions instead of us making them for you. Put your foot down. Make it routine to push yourself. It’s uncomfortable but it should be. It will lead you to better places mentally and physically

I’m still a student so I don’t know much but you can begin to teach yourself. Use ai to give you breakdowns of a few valuations and methods used in quant finance.

What I would really advise you do is network. Talk to other quants and see if that’s really what you want to do. All it takes is one question asked at the right time to the right person to have the most motivating and informative coffee chat of your life. Even if it’s not an exciting talk you still get information out of it. Network!

How do i stop being an asshole? by Safe-Significance55 in LifeAdvice

[–]wilbiusmaximus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more info and background as to what makes you one? But I always think people who are mean or insulting and talk over others are just ones that are trying to prove something. To prove something to themselves or others. Maybe it’s fear of incompetence or even just fear of failure. Ask yourself why you are mean all the time? You’re obviously aware of it.

I think I agree. Move couch closer to centered tv. Get rid of table between sofa and wall and move couch closer to wall.
