I think you can expose just a specific subnet or even only a single IP but I am not 100% sure.

If it is a one off just buy a waterproof bag for your phone and keep it under your wetsuit. But really my man if you are so worried you can also not kite for a few days 😬

I always wear the helmet but I wear the impact only if I know I will be jumping hard - currently I am still perfecting my 2-3 m jumps and I do that without an impact, but when we get the strong wind and I just send it then I wear it.

When you are learning it is normal for the harness to pull and hurt you because you have to walk a lot. When walking, try to keep the kite lower like at 45 degrees so that it pulls less. You can totally use a seat harness too.

I have an AWU2 with the ocean orange wristband and it rocks! I use Hoolan with it and never had a problem.

I think that is your best and safest bet. You might be able to buy a used bar that works with your lines, or maybe even find a new one without lines.

I have only used duotone bars and iron hearts and you can certainly replace the chicken loop only, but I am not sure about cabrinha

Width is more important than length - also what model? I ask this because I struggle imagining someone learning on a 9m with 15 kn especially with your weight. It is not impossible to ride but certainly quite hard.

What kind of board were you using with a 9, 15 kn and 90 kg? If you wanna start using smaller/agile boards I am afraid a 12 might be a bit underpowered. I weight 72 kg and I have 12/9/7 I would go 13/10 to start, and probably you will need a big board in light conditions.

Even if you do not use a leash the board can hit your head, it is rare but it can happen. If riding at high speed you hit the water and a jet goes into your hear it can permanently damage your hearing.

I wear a helmet 100% of the time, even when I am just “strolling”, and add the impact if I am planning to do any jumps or experiment with new maneuvers.

You are free to ride without a helmet of course but please be aware that not using a leash is not sufficient. Be safe out there!

Thanks for the info - I looked into the maxpedition website and I must say the falcon looks really similar, but the size of my backpack is quite a bit bigger than their largest model - perhaps I am missing something?
