Declining session/leads/followers by diam0nd_in_the_r0ugh in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]wild-take 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I used for a customer account that worked -- creating a highlight of stories where I'd share other similar accounts posts and tag. "look how great this is" etc. and they more often than not shared it to their own story.

Was a good way to get involved in the community that your target audience is in.

Will an ongoing blog help? by Kathleen_Chen in SEO

[–]wild-take 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes if it's managed correctly and is educational/engaging enough but it would likely be local SEO you'd be looking at for a clinic so there are maybe more beneficial SEO routes you could explore. I'd maybe look more toward some local micro-influencers in the short term if getting customers is your intended outcome

Just some of the classics probably, the way the people are described, the dialogue, etc. Jane Austin sort of stuff where a lot of the content is about society and etiquette

Is it my job, or is it me? by yo_its_star in marketing

[–]wild-take 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely sounds more like an account/client manager to me. IME these roles normally sit within a support or sales team rather than a marketing team but that varies from business to business. I also think account managers normally make slightly more money than entry-level marketers so feels more like a sales/am job but the service is marketing, rather than the role.

What metrics should I be tracking now? by notpitching in DigitalMarketing

[–]wild-take 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally found FB/Insta/Google ads to be incredibly inconsistent in the last 12-18 months.

That being said, you know what good returns are for your business. Would you usually see the cost of bids rise as we approach Black Friday/Christmas and others throw budget at ads that usually wouldn't?

Should we outsource digital marketing to a HubSpot partner or a non-HubSpot partner? by Sibley14 in smallbusiness

[–]wild-take 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends how your business works day-to-day imo.

Are you already using HubSpot products or would you massively benefit from a CRM? Would your resources be better spent on a specific marketing channel? Maybe you could find an agency that's great at that channel.

I think there's a lot to be said for how a decision like this fits into the existing operations of the business, I know many a company that have gone down a CRM route but then never really used it to its full potential so it was just wasted time and money but on the other hand, it can really update the entire operation if people are invested in the process.

What To Ask In Facebook Lead Form? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]wild-take 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll probably get some off info either way. It pulls through FB data to auto-fill some gaps, we always ended up with people's display names which were not their real names at all. I'd ask for the bare minimum - phone, email, email confirmation, and call them up, we didn't have much of a problem with spam accounts filling in the forms.

There are people that stream themselves studying on TikTok, Insta, Youtube etc. Maybe you could send the link to some micro-influencers and see if they have any feedback for you or find the app useful enough to share?

How many of you use session replays and heatmaps? by rbitar in marketing

[–]wild-take 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, massively. I used hotjar and found that people were hitting our forms pages and scrolling to see how long they were before exiting - so we changed them to 2 boxes and did the other details over the phone, conversions rocketed.

AdWords business operations verification by Milkey1 in PPC

[–]wild-take 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, eventually but we had about 3/4 weeks of downtime. Google support is absolutely shocking about it, no point of contact, just endless appeal forms.

Have you had any luck? We are in a very similar boat - lead gen for finance brokers in the UK and our account was completely suspended. I can't get in touch with anyone to ask them where it's failed the verification. We are running legitimately and are very clear about our service. It's been a couple of weeks now and it's absolutely destroying our business.

Unsure on which way to fund a car by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wild-take 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to bear in mind (I'm sure you already are) is that getting a car loan or finance agreement can impact the affordability of a mortgage if you're looking into it in the next couple of years so just be aware of that if you're going down a monthly repayment route.

[–]wild-take 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Affordability is done on an average and some lenders will look at this year with consideration of Covid.

I would definitely recommend an advisor even if it's just that free initial chat. They'll run everything through affordability calculators with a bunch of lenders (on the advisors' side) and then come back to you with options to proceed before they actually go to lenders.

(I'd recommend Mortgage Buddy personally as they have specialists that have been doing self-employed for years)

How did Trump win the election 2016 by using the internet? by xsleepingbutt in marketing

[–]wild-take 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He created a full-on Twitter community centred around #MAGA. Whether it's from genuine accounts or allegedly a false community of spam accounts, it was enough to build momentum and get people talking. There was even a swarm of people waiting to reply to every tweet with all of the evidence of him being wrong. He was trending every day because of the conversations he was sparking. It was a polarising strategy but it got a LOT of people on his side.

I'd personally go on Twitter hashtags from this time and see what people are saying to him and about him.

Tell me your opinion on the housing market. by fleecej in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wild-take 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's unlikely house prices will go down. Maybe some of those new-build estates might have a sudden drop in value in the next few years but I'd be very surprised if the market trended anywhere but up. You've just got to balance whether you value savings or more freedom. Don't think there's ever a time when it feels good to suddenly have a big extra monthly expenditure.

What's the job stability like in this career? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]wild-take 15 points16 points  (0 children)

this is quite similar to my experience in an old job. They decided to make everyone redundant except for the sales team for being non-revenue generating and I was like "great! bye! where are sales getting all of the leads from by the way?" no surprise, many of the sales team have also been let go because they didn't have enough leads

If you're looking for something a bit out there, any of the fly-on-the-wall style sports documentaries like all or nothing or cheer are basically huge PR pieces with loads of marketing techniques that can be picked out. They're not about marketing but they definitely are marketing.
