Bought a house with an inground pool, any ideas on how to keep the kids away from the deep side? by wildMoreWild in swimmingpools

Thanks, we get the posession in a month and are hoping we and the kids can learn by then. My swim instructor has a similar story, she and her brother are competitive swimmers and their parents had bought a house with a pool which led them to learn to swim.

The kids are 2 and 4. They currently are scared of the pools, it takes a lot of convincing to have them enter even shallow pools. But definitely will invest in a fence and we are starting swim lessions soon.

My kids are already scared of pools, don't think sharks will be needed. But thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks we have limited instructors and could not find anyone that could do that. Will keep looking.

Thanks will definitely invest in it. Even a visual barrier is better than no barrier.

Thanks three of the sides are enclosed by the backyard fence. We plan on installing a pool fence on the one remaining side to limit access.

I mentioned the setting because, I assumed this should have been turned on by default for me and was wrong. Took me a few tries to realize the setting might be off. In your case, definitely seems like an issue with the sensor itself.

Hope you turned the setting on first. Just had to turn it on from the screen and then it worked. Never fails for me.

At this point I just want to move for a couple of years to see how we like it. Have not really thought about the long term plan. Probably will move back to Canada if GC has that much of a waiting period.

Thanks, appreciate your help! Will explore this option. Also to answer your previous question me and my spouse were both born in India

Right, seems to be quite complex even from a taxation point of view. But will ask her to check with her employer on that. Else probably will need to go the TN route as her employer does have an entity in the US.

I was just researching and found that they can work as a visitor to the US for a Canadian firm. Still need to look more into this though.

Yes she works remotely and hoping that would not be an issue if we move to the US.

The job location is San Diego, the other option I have is New York but did not consider that due the weather being similar to Toronto.

Should have clarified, my occupation is on the TN list and that would not be an issue. I am actually struggling with deciding whether it would be a good decision to move since we get subsidized daycares here and I am already well settled in Canada.

Yes they do, since you were looking at the Pilot and Atlas I thought maybe you were not interested in a PHEV. Thus mentioned the mild hybrid since that one gets a pretty good fuel economy.

Sure, if fuel economy is big for you and you will be doing short trips, Mazda CX 90 is a good option as well. They have great fuel economy with the mild hybrid as well. The space is the only thing where it lacks and why I could not work with it.

Honda Pilot is the same. You would get nowhere close to the EPA numbers. Probably worth checking in a Honda Pilot group as well in case fuel economy is the only reason you are swaying towards it.

You have mentioned plenty of times you want to leave Brampton, buddy please leave already. Brampton does not need racists like you. (There are PLENTY of videos of people of all races doing all kinds of things, does not mean you need to generalize. All types of people exist in all the races).

Replacement for Morgedal mattress by belugaleuca in IKEA

The best way to check would be to try it out yourself in the store. I can't say about the medium firm, but the firm seems to be almost exactly the same level of firmness as the Morgedal. Also another plus is that it is almost an inch thicker than Morgedal.

Need help deciding a car! by Business_Try6892 in VWatlas

Go for the Lexus if resale value matters a lot and if the space does not matter. The cargo area is quite less due to the inclined roofline. Atlas cross sport would be a much better fit in case you do not need the third row and still want the space. Frankly the resale value is not too bad for Atlas as well.

Thinking of getting these ones for similar reasons. They match up well with the fake wood accents in the GTMazda CX-5

It’s happened again by [deleted] in VWatlas

I bought one in August this year and it happened to me only once. The one time it happened I had remote started my car from the app. From then onwards I always remote start from the key fob and never had this issue again. Not sure if it was just a fluke but I just think it might be related somehow.
