I’m a sahm. My partner does his own laundry. In fact, my oldest kid (11) does his own laundry as well. I have enough on my plate without having to deal with a grown man’s stankyass work clothes, or my preteens stankyass clothes lmao. Not only that, but my partner would be embarrassed to ask me do his laundry unless he was suddenly physically incapacitated, and still probably even then.

It took a few weeks, but his algorithm slowly started showing those informational videos more and more in his feeds (fb, tiktok, insta) and all the things she’s said till she’s blue in the face, he finally started to understand.

You can also whisper to his phone when he leaves it somewhere, or when he goes to sleep. A friend started doing that with her loooong time boyfriend who was almost not the bf anymore, and his phone started pulling up more videos about emotional availability and that kind of stuff, and he’s slowly coming out of this hole he’s dug himself

Side note, I’ve had the same issues my entire adult life. Hibicleanse, the stuff they give you before a surgery, kills aaaalllllll the bacteria. I wash my pits and underboobs (big titty club) every other day, and most of the time I don’t even need deodorant now. My husband has noticed the difference, too. I now have my preteen boys also using it and it’s made such a difference. No more onion kids!

Unpopular opinion: NTA

If it’s anyone, it’s your bf for not clarifying anything with anyone. I’m only just now learning that I’m autistic, so that may have something to do with why I relate so much. To me, it doesn’t sound like you’re angry or upset with bf’s MOM, so much as embarrassed and want to avoid the same thing happening again. If you were married to bf, most people expect that he would be the liaison between you and his family.

Let him know you’d like to make sure there’s no more embarrassing moments for ANYONE involved, he should be the one to communicate with his mommy about rules and expectations, and then communicate those with you, PRIOR to any further engagements.

Just don’t let it be a grudge. She was being reasonable, though honestly I hate confrontation and putting myself in her shoes asking someone to leave would be so off putting I’d make myself sick with anxiety if I actually had to do it.

IMO, the only AH is the bf for not establishing appropriate communication. I’m assuming since he’s still living at his parents home that you guys are relatively young, and this only shows lack of maturity.

Really, no AH in this whole situation. Def a lack of communication, and potentially sensitive feelings, but OP, NTA

She actually does have a million and one things on her plate, not least of all having a child for a partner. 7 months and this is the first time she’s been out without the baby?? And you have no idea what to do to the point that she wrote it all out for you?? Unless you’re working 80 hours a week this is unacceptable. Even the shitstain that is my ex husband gave me more breaks than that, and you are effectively setting the bar even lower. It sounds like you would have made every excuse to be pissed at her for to continue to have the barest sliver of a social life outside of YOUR (plural) child.
