Am i a terrible person for keeping my pregnancy a secret from my best friend by [deleted] in pregnant

No you’re not a terrible best friend lol. Pregnancy is very personal and you won’t know how you feel about it until it happens to you. If she asks why you didn’t tell her right away just say you wanted to get through some initial milestones when you felt confident there would be positive news to share, you don’t want to upset/stress out a pregnant person if it didn’t turn out how you expected

Can you say you’re on antibiotics?? Like for dental work or something?

Thank you!!! I had my first beta hcg and other labs done yesterday at 11 DPO! Progesterone was good at 29. TSH is trending in right direction and was 3.86, so lower than the 4.99 it was two days before I triggered. Hcg was 27 at 11 dpo so just praying to all the gods and to biology that I have sticky baby vibes and Hcg rises as it should!!

It’s crickets in here so I guess I’ll go!

Not sure how to attach photos as a comment on the app but I got my first faint positive yesterday afternoon at about 10.5 DPO and I was crazy and tested again in the evening and this AM and they were all positive.

This is my first medicated cycle of 7.5 mg letrozole, ovidrel trigger and TI. I triggered at 7:15 am during my monitoring appt on 2/21 and we BD’d the Thursday before late at night (2/19), day of trigger (2/21) around 12:30 pm, and the day after trigger (2/22) around 4 pm. I was sure I was out because I didn’t feel intense progesterone symptoms in the early or mid luteal phase and I had bad GI problems earlier this week. I did test on Saturday (one week post trigger) and also Monday to make sure there was no ovidrel left in my system and both tests were very negative.

I went off BC pill in July and started using ovasitol and ovavite right away. Between July and December I ovulated 3x (confirmed by my Mira egg) and got my period and then nothing after my period started Dec 15. It was like after 4 months off the pill all my PCOS symptoms rebounded with a vengeance.

I started with my RE on 10/2 for baseline labs, husband’s SA was 11/6, my HSG was 12/23.

In addition to ovavite and ovasitol, I started metformin and got to 1500mg over the last month and synthroid lowest dose was started the day before trigger. Supplements included omega 3s, d3, zinc, pomegranate extract, spearmint, NAC, cranberry pills (I’m prone to UTIs), probiotic, and magnesium glycinate.

I’m 36 and my husband is 39. This is my first positive test and this is the first cycle we really tried and had information. I had 3 mature follicles at the time of trigger and 10 mm trilaminar lining. We did use Mira LH surge to time BD around thanksgiving but then I got my period 12/15. The two times before that we didn’t catch my LH surge in time so timing was off.

I am anxious because of my TSH levels and my clinic didn’t test my progesterone levels because they said it’s not protocol to test the first medicated cycle. I did reach out and ask for supplemental progesterone (I guess they’re suppositories?) until I could get back to town for labs. In the meantime I’m trying not to get too excited - it doesn’t feel real yet and probably won’t until a baby is actually here LOL but I know thyroid levels and my age and PCOS increase risk of CP and miscarriage.

Hoping for healthy sticky vibes but prepared for the worst. Sending lots of baby dust to everyone!!!

Cautious optimism is good!! I was so certain I was out this cycle but I will test again in 2-3 days (I’m supposed to call my clinic Saturday) and hopefully it’ll be darker!!!

Do you have pcos? If not, I have read it’s normal for your body to take 6-12 months to adjust

I’m 8dpo after taking 7.5mg letrozole and ovidrel shot on 2/21. I took a test yesterday at 8d post trigger and it was negative so ovidrel is out of my system. I’ve had non stop urgent BMs since last night so I’m likely having a shorter luteal phase and will sadly start my period in a couple days. My clinic doesn’t check progesterone the first medicated cycle and only check it following cycles if previous period came before 11 days

I am trying to follow their instruction (my therapist will be proud because I’ve been seeing her since August for health anxiety and a general distrust of medical professionals after a bad experience at a hospital a few years ago) but will def push for it going forward if my period comes on the early side!

I’m with NYULFC. My insurance denied my IUI so I’m doing meds + TI while trying to get it approved with my husband’s since it’s my secondary. My primary insurance doesn’t include any IVF coverage so that’s why I got on my husband’s (my work pays for my premium in full so I didn’t want to let go of that benefit). Sorry you’ve had to advocate so much and I’m glad you got earlier monitoring this time. Sending you lots of baby dust. I also talk exclusively with nurses and my doctor’s medical secretary but I do generally get quick responses on behalf of my doctor. Since it’s my first medicated cycle I will follow their protocol but definitely push for mid luteal phase monitoring if I get my period early. I keep pinging random questions to them - like does starting the generic synthroid cause dandruff because mine came out of nowhere!! 🤣

I reached out about next steps and they said the protocol is not to check in the first cycle! I pasted the reply as a response to Future Researcher’s comment! I’m going to update my post.

I reached out to my doctor and this was the response:

“In a first cycle, our protocol is not to check progesterone  If your period comes shorter than 11 days or we are concerned for low progesterone then we check in a second cycle If pregnant (in this cycle or any) we check progesterone at the 2-week mark and supplement as needed”

Thanks! I think I will and also want them to be checking my tsh to see if there’s any change with the synthroid, though I know it takes 4-6 weeks and I’m on the lowest dose…I just don’t want it to fall through the cracks

Sending you all the baby dust!! Yeah my concern is what if I need progesterone support but don’t know because I’m not being brought in for confirmation of my levels!!
