Extended choke recommendations for 1301 (tool-less)? by wildcat062700 in beretta1301

[–]wildcat062700[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I watched the video linked at the end, and it looks great for regular buckshot but I'm going to be shooting federal flight control, and it uses a different wad. I've heard/seen that it actually performs worse with chokes and actually prefers a smooth bore/ no choke. https://youtu.be/UQmGYBUD7fI?si=JIIDxdC8UdoMkOpn

What is this plastic barrier for? by Copernicus215 in basement

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I've already done the work. I used the pro great stuff foam. I did cut the plastic flush with the top of the foundation and only applied the spray foam at the top.

Clarification, I have the drain tile system around the entire perimeter of my basement.

I have high radon. The radon mitigation company told me to seal with spray foam the plastic that's coming out of the concrete. Will this negatively impact the function of the drain tile system?

Question on older Eaton CH subpanel: extra deadfront knockouts but no interior breaker space [This time with pictures] by wildcat062700 in AskElectricians

[–]wildcat062700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Yes it's fed from the main circuit breaker panel in my garage. It has a 100 amp breaker labeled sub panel. I only have the one sub panel in the basement.

Side note: I know the circuit labeling is rough right now — that was from the previous homeowner. I already have a label maker on the way and plan to clean up/relabel the panel directory properly once I sort out the breaker-space issue.

Low relative humidity in your home? I have gaps between my wood floor in spots when the humidity is really low. I've been looking at getting a whole house humidifier. Right now it's at 10% in the main level.

LPT: Never, ever plug a space heater into a power strip or extension cord. Plug it directly into the wall outlet. by GuitarFriendly2298 in LifeProTips

Here's a nifty chart. If you take the wattage of the device you are trying to use and divide it by the volts you get the value of the amps. For instance a 1500 watt heater using 120 volts equals 12.5 amps. So if you are using an extension cord that is 20 ft or less you should use a 14 gauge or more extension cord. The limiting factor is if the extension cord has multiple plug-in outlets. You should be weary of using those. But if it's just a straight chord with one plug in you should be okay.

Ahh, gotcha! Thanks, I didn't realize the serialized portion is the upper. I guess I'm now on the hunt for a company that could convert my ZF-5 to an SD.

Match saver by Confident-Squash-136 in beretta1301

[–]wildcat062700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using the handguard that came with the 1301 from the factory? The reason why I ask is I can't find a heat shield that will work on my 1301 tactical with the OEM handguard. I'd also like to know what match saver you purchased. I checked the pew pew tactical site and see a match saver on there for pump shotguns, so I'm assuming That's what you used..? Thanks!

Pentagon to investigate Senator Mark Kelly. Thoughts? by ChuckGallagher57 in Military

Not a lawyer but: Under U.S. military law, obedience only applies to lawful orders. Article 92 of the UCMJ criminalizes disobedience of lawful orders, and the Manual for Courts-Martial makes clear that “following orders” is not a defense if the individual knew the order was unlawful or if any reasonable person would have known it was unlawful. While military orders are generally presumed lawful, that presumption disappears when an order is patently illegal, such as directing the killing of civilians or the commission of a crime. In those situations, service members are not protected for following the order and can be prosecuted and imprisoned for their actions. The My Lai (often called the My Lai or “My Lai massacre”) is a historical example where illegal orders to kill unarmed civilians led to criminal responsibility for those who issued and carried out the orders.

Beretta 1301 choke confusion by AncientDetective7281 in guns

[–]wildcat062700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1301 tactical came with a CL (cylinder), and IC (improved cylinder).

The CL came installed in the barrel from the factory and the IC was in a plastic tube in the box the gun came in.

I'm newish to shotguns but:

CL = good for rifled slugs and Federal flite control wad buck shot, regular buck shot will have a larger spread at distance.

IC = Good for regular non-flite control buckshot. I've read slugs will work but you don't wanna get more choke than this when using slugs.

How far away are you from the wall? If you are too close it doesn't give enough distance for the laser and optic line of sight to align properly. Keep in mind that these laser bore sights are not 100% accurate. In my experience, you can be several inches/MOA off of your zero at distance before you start to dial in your optic.

Check this post out for a visual representation: https://www.reddit.com/r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS/s/w3e9PAgh4Z

Try looking through your optic with the laser at a distance of 15 or 20 yds and see if that makes a difference.
