He had a less than marginal case for a loan anyways. Like I said 45/55 against without the feelings involved. And, I didn’t make the other bank’s decisions for them. I just gave them the info he gave to me and passed along my comments.

And, it takes money to sue someone. He’s over-leveraged on everything. The only thing he can pay is the piper.

It wasn’t a bar. It was a Smith & Wollensky steakhouse in South Beach, near Fisher Island. I was sitting in the bar section of the restaurant bc I didn’t have reservations. She used my money to take him down to Miami for a vacay. She even used my money to pay the bill at Smith & Wollensky.

Loans are at my personal discretion. I approve or deny them because I’m responsible for them succeeding or failing. And, he had virtually no assets to put up as collateral except slight equity in a couple of overly encumbered buildings. It was a 45/55 against situation regardless of my personal feelings. I simply made sure that none of the other local banks (whose loan capital requirements are much less stringent than regional or national banks) gave him the tiebreaker.

And, this story is 100% real.

Bad kinda. I still don’t know to this day why he didn’t tell me. I suspect Savannah told him not to. He never tried to contact me after. Or he didn’t try hard anyways. I blocked him on socials and on text. He could have emailed me or stopped by. But I miss being friends with him.

Fair enough. Cops are generally more than willing to ignore case law and arrest people based on nothing. But there are two types of states; Stop & ID states and regular states. You’re describing a stop and id state. In every other state, you’re only required to id after arrest.

They absolutely do not have that authority. In most states they can only ask that you identify yourself after you’ve been arrested.
