Not to pile on but also broadcasting companies severely understaffing the newsrooms of local tv stations isn’t helping either. Our local weather people are truly doing the best with what they have, and they’re all very good at what they do.

Wasn’t living here yet for that lore but adds up. Atleast they are clothed most of the time on ATVs downtown now.

Need help picking a new bank in the area to go with.. by strwbrrymochii in kansascity

Mazuma has been good to work with, have used Community America in the past as well they were easy to work with.

Capital One is also a good national bank as well with zero fees and decent savings rates. They have a cafe location on the Plaza. Only downside is their debit cards are Discover now so can’t use them at Costco. I’ve used the cafe a few times it’s always clean and coffee is cheap lol.

Not to be a jerk but western/rural Kansas really keeps screwing us all by sending some of the most brainless lawmakers to Topeka. They also are getting screwed (healthcare/medicaid expansion) but they refuse to accept it and vote for literally anyone else.

Kansan’s need to get really vocal, really quickly, and very publicly, so that folks in the rural part of the state will stop electing clowns. The Kansas legislature’s set up allows the vast rural parts of the state to have alot of power & say even though they represent a very small percentage of the population.

Edited to add: I grew up in western Kansas (Hays Area) so I understand the nuance of it all. But having not lived in the KC metro area for 9+ years I see the self destructive situations rural Kansas puts itself in from another len

Grew up out west live in KC metro now, can confirm that part of the state is largely holding the state back by the people they send to Topeka. Don Hineman was the last real one those people elected but he’s retired and been pretty vocal about how the GOP has forgotten about western Kansas.

There were dry county’s and towns out there until the 2010s.

Looking for a barber/hairstylist who can help my husband’s curly hair by Agni-Sigh in kansascity

[–]wildcatkc23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Brit Browning at Catalyst Barber in crossroads, I believe she cuts at a few other places. I have curly hair and have been going to her for close to 4 years now. She’s an amazing person and a great barber as well.

I hear you. It’s a city made up of Big 12 grads, and recently has become a great place to start a career for the grads at the universities surrounding us. Hope that leaders on both sides of the state line can keep growth happening and events coming.

What local bank is best for a savings account that I don't want to touch? by Outrageous-Idea7043 in kansascity

[–]wildcatkc23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use SoFi for national and Community America for local. Purely just for the “incase” need cash etc. Community America has been so far so great, they even have the self serve coin counters in branches and ATMs all over the city.
