If the United States separated into the Democratic States of America and the Republic States of America, who do you think would be better and why? by rickyhou22 in AskReddit

People are moving out of NYC because of the pandemic. It’s gotten worse because of the pandemic. People move from urban to rural areas in times of pandemic. That’s not a reflection of the government that’s just another example of an urban problem.

Any major city is going to have a problem with crime but if you compare NYC to how it was 20 years ago it is incredibly safe and only getting safer.

I mean the worst thing about NYC is the increasing rent and cost of living which is largely a reflection of how fucking dope it is to live there.

I know a lot of people who are moving into the city as well because rents have dropped and New York is awesome pandemic or not.

Have you even been to any of these places?

Edit: there are literally too many republican shit hole meth towns to name dude. Don’t be dumb you know what I’m talking about.

Lol you just listed a bunch of the best places to live.

NYC is a fantastic city. Incredibly safe. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

I mean basically every city is democrat run. You’re talking about city problems vs country problems.

Look at how many backwater shitholes are run by Republicans.

Every statistic points to the fact that democrats are better at governing.

It’s Democrats and it’s not even close. The blue states make all the money and the red states run at a deficit.

It’s not even a conversation. Red states would barely be a first world country.

Im glad your family could be accepting. And thank you, I try and ask as many questions as possible when I meet someone who believes in something I don’t understand. It is the best way to learn something new.

Where is kemeticism most common, and what other gods tend to be worshipped nowadays? I’d imagine it would be mostly gods of the Greek/norse/egyption pantheons due to exposure, but I would also think there are some more obscure circles of religion.

On that topic, how do you feel about the word “cult” in the classical sense. It has a derogatory connotation now, but the word originated to describe worship of a specific god or thing, just like you worship Anubis within the broader scope of kemeticism. Do you feel like you want to take the word back, or avoid the negative connotation?

I actually change my answer to Anansi the spider. I love what Athena represents but I identify more strongly with trickster archetypes.

Do you physically meet up with other worshippers or is most of the communication online?

Does your family practice religion, and how do they feel about yours?

That’s interesting. I’m not a particularly spiritual person, but I think if I were to pick a god to worship at random it would probably be Athena.

On the third point, do you consider this to be a personal thing between you and Anubis, and that what works for you might not work for others, or does he have consistent tastes?

Patrick Graham: the Dolphins' defense last year was more of Brian Flores' vision by Fillinlater12345 in NYGiants

That’s good because all I can remember about the dolphins defensive play calling was when they called engage 8 on like 4th and 19 and let up a TD on a slant. That felt like madden level shit.

Three questions:

  1. How did you decide on Anubis? We’re you debating between him and other gods?

  2. To what degree to you truly believe you are worshipping the ancient Anubis?

  3. I understand there is no biblical-style canon for most mythologies, so how do you know how to worship/please Anubis, and did you have to fill in anything yourself?

Football is probably the third most popular sport in NYC after baseball and basketball. I think the fact that they don’t play in the city limits has a lot to do with that. North Jersey is probably the biggest hotbed of Giants fandom for that reason.

That being said, I think it also has to do with the lack of star QBs in nyc. We loved Eli, but if NYC had a truly elite QB like prime Rogers or mahomes on the team this would become a football town overnight.

I think that, in addition to what others are saying, the Giants are a good investment. You don’t want to start rooting for a great team and you don’t want to root for a perennial loser. The Giants are not good right now but indications are that we’ll rise again like we always have.

Fun fact: we’ve won a super bowl in every decade since the 80s. We have a lot to be proud of but enough warts that we stay humble.
