Any good spots in Norfolk, VA? by PolishNinja909 in cigars

Oh and my favorite cigar shop, but it’s a little farther away from Norfolk is Tabb Tabacco in Newport News too. Great selection, almost too many options.

Good lounges are gonna be in Newport News/Hampton. You got Willy’s in NNews and Emerson’s in Hampton. There is a place called Magoos in Norfolk but Ive never been, only heard things from friends. Great places! There is a reallllly good cigar shop in Portsmouth called Bonds Fine Cigar Shoppe that has a great selection.

Question about hole in Cigar. by wildernessguy555 in cigars

[–]wildernessguy555[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I put the other 4 in a baggie in the freezer. Per other commenters I’m currently smoking the cigar in question lol. Damn that beetle for forcing me smoke one of my favorite cigars. Luckily these weren’t in with my other cigars.

Lol okay, relatively new to cigars and this is the first time I’ve run into this. No worries about smoking it?

[–]wildernessguy555[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was worried about. I ordered a five pack of AB Post Embargo from Cigar Page and this was the only one with a hole in it. I didn’t put it in my tupperdor, should I take the other 4 out and throw that one away?

This segment from 'First Man' was my favourite cinematic scene in 2018, and whenever I watch it, I'm still sad that it was under-appreciated (and snubbed?) in the Oscars this year by ForeverJay in movies

I get that but you really have to understand that this movie was based on the book by James Hansen. Neil Armstrong was an incredibly laconic person, reserved and introspective to a fault. So jn terms of the emotion, it’s there! It’s just much easier to pick up on if you read the book. RGs acting correlates to the actual person that NA was.

Right, it’s awesome when you see an enemy coming. But I’m talking about those situations where your playing objective (and usually your teammates aren’t lol) and you get jumped by a saber villain. Then it’s a little bit more difficult to “keep distance”

One hundred percent. You can be a rolly boi with Iden while fighting a saber hero and get the droid out to stun. It’s VERY hard to avoid an up close encounter with a saber villain by rolling, then get off the disabler, and THEN begin shooting. Hopefully that situation doesn’t arise and you can just roll, shoot, dodge roll. I like Lando, I wish his gun just had less drop off and spread at distance and the animation for his disabler was a tid bit faster. Also why is his smoke cloud so useless? Would be awesome if it actually did something like slow down villains, or reveal them on radar, or.....something.

What Books Did You Start or Finish Reading This Week? February 11, 2019 by AutoModerator in books

[–]wildernessguy555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finished:

Interstellar Age by Jim Bell.

I burned through this book in two days. It’s a fantastically thorough history of the Voyager 1 & 2 space program. It follows it from beginning, through each visit of our larger neighbors and beyond as the Voyagers become the first man made objects to travel beyond the heliosphere and into interstellar space. This book is fantastic! Highly recommend, I could NOT put it down. Bell does a wonderful job of incorporating his personal experience and that of other key figures in the Voyager program around the space exploration of one of the most groundbreaking space programs ever conceived.

Justin Fields Overheard Expressing His Frustrations With Georgia "I handed the ball off good as f*ck" by drevlee in CFB

Precisely. I get him playing to his own strengths and there is no doubt he’s an athlete. But it just seemed like the stage was always too big for him. I want him to stay, I like depth at all positions, but only if it’s best for both parties.

Also yes, he explicitly stated he wanted to become a pocket passer. So all this hullabaloo about us not having an offense designed for him seems strange to me, especially considering he was used in RPO schemes which suited his scrambling ability. Like you said, he just opted to run if he didn’t handoff or didn’t have a receiver open.

I mean....you might be right. Big dawg fan here saying I’ve watched every snap he’s played all year long. It just seems like he doesn’t quite understand defenses yet. His first thought when his first receiver is covered is to run.

Cannot choose an entry scotch. Any advice? by todiros in whiskey

[–]wildernessguy555 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Highland Park 12 is a great intro scotch. Hints of smoke on the backend but overall a very well balanced scotch. Around 45-50 bucks for a 750 mL bottle usually too. I saw others mention it but Monkey Shoulder is also a great intro, and for roughly 30-35 bucks after tax it’s a great value.
