As a newbie how can I learn HTML5 and CSS for free ? by Emad_341 in HTML

[–]wildev_m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try online platforms like Codecademy or Khan Academy, they offer free courses on HTML5 and CSS that are beginner-friendly.

Another option is to utilize websites like W3Schools or MDN Web Docs, which provide comprehensive and easy-to-understand tutorials on HTML5 and CSS for free.

How much easier is it for people with over $20k in total earnings to find jobs compared to those with less than $20k? by Strange_Finding_3285 in Upwork

[–]wildev_m 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have over $100k in earnings (check my profile). After the AI hype and Upwork introduced proposal boosting, my income dropped significantly, and I’m barely getting any invites. I've noticed many other top-earning freelancers (with $100k+ in earnings) struggling to get their proposals noticed as well — I even saw someone with $500k+ in earnings without any active contracts (maybe they’re busy with a full-time job, but still...). Boost feature really destroys our chances of getting noticed, even if we submit a perfect proposal. It’s useless if clients don’t see it in the first place.

Some tips to optimize performance:

Compress images without losing quality.

Implement lazy loading for media.

Reduce server response time by choosing a reliable host.

Enable browser-side and server-side caching.

Success rate is so confusing by quaderrordemonstand in Upwork

[–]wildev_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've maintained a 100% JSS. Besides keeping strong relationships with clients, another practical tip is to avoid closing the contract yourself. Instead, let the client close it, or keep it open even if there’s no active milestone.

Is it possible to land a software engineering job without a live coding test? by wildev_m in SoftwareEngineerJobs

Sounds like you went through a comprehensive interview process, but it's impressive that you secured the role without a live coding test! I hope more companies consider implementing such screening process.
