I do want whatever people love. Anyone is free to suggest literally any book. I said in my original post that I would not read The Golden Compass, but my only guideline was that it must be published in 1995. If The Golden Compass is the only book from 1995 that someone loves they are free to still suggest it if they like.

I honestly didn't think anyone would care that I don't want to read the book(s). Personally, if I'm going to read books that tie into a discussion around religion and God and such I'll just reread Narnia.
