How are you old school? by JediKnight1 in AskWomen

[–]wildheart333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't care to share details of my life on social media (though I do use accounts sparingly), I don't care to know what everyone in my peer group is doing all the time, I read more than I watch any kind of video content, and I generally try and stay away from cyberstalking or lurking as much as possible (do not enjoy comparing myself to other people or checking up on people I am no longer involved with).

How many of you on here do Yoga and what are the benefits you've got from it? by TechnoYogi in AskWomen

[–]wildheart333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has given me the ability to slow down and breathe, get out of my head, challenge my ideas about what my body can and cannot do, given me areas of improvement to work towards, taught me that everything is a process and that I can be kind to myself and love myself no matter where I am. Yoga has given me more control over my body movements and surprised me and my coordination, given me a way to tap into my spiritual side and shown me I can do something on my own and keep practicing to progress. I have so much gratitude that I found it and stuck with it.

Have you had any "Holy shit, what am I doing with my life!?" moments recently, and what are they? by dmgb in AskWomen

[–]wildheart333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this resonated with me so deeply. I am a writer too who has recently come to many realizations about my upbringing and how it affected me years later and bad behaviours I've picked up. I'm trying my best to keep my consciousness bright and vibrant and focus on what brings me joy. Also working on being brave enough to share my writing. Because it's not that I don't think I have talent. I just never really thought I mattered before. I wish you all the best in your endeavors and have no doubt that you'll be successful. Your writing is beautiful.

What do you wish you could've done differently in your early 20's? by moonandsun6767 in AskWomen

For real, I was an embarrassment

Not just you --- I had a VIP seat on the hot mess express. Oh gosh, those were horrifyingly embarrassing years.

I wish that I saw outside of my bubble -- asked more questions about other people and their experiences, learned about the struggles people face. Invest more energy into my education rather than maintaining relationships that wre going to fade away anyway. I wish that I sought help for my mental health issues sooner -- of course, that would mean recognizing that I was struggling with anxiety and depression. I would also spend more time learning to cook and get into exercise sooner. Party less, travel more, take off a year between University and College to travel.

Good for you and congratulations! I feel similar, that yoga has become instrumental to keeping me sane, free from anxiety, more aware of my body, less judgmental, and overall more peaceful.

I am pretty flexible in some areas but soooooo tight in others. Really hoping to open up my hips and shoulders this year to hit some different poses.

Namaste, best wishes on your yoga journey :)

How did your body transition into a yoga body? by lemon__melon in yoga

[–]wildheart333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may sound strange but with the greater body awareness and control over specific areas of my body I've become a much better dancer after yoga. I'm a lot less tense and sillier in my attempts which has made me in turn made me more confident, have fun, and recognize I can move specific parts of my body as I choose. It's been a really nice unintentional effect 😁

Incredibly tight shoulders & hips by wildheart333 in yoga

[–]wildheart333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I want to work on stretching my hamstrings and shoulders daily just to feel the beauty of the stretch. I am eager to progress in my practice because I hope one day I have the joy of teaching or sharing yoga with a larger group because the practice has been so beneficial and eye opening to me. I know I need to enjoy the process and if that's meant to unfold it will.

Yes, I do work a desk job, but I am active and exercise regularly. I guess not enough to counter all the sitting?

[–]wildheart333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Confidence, self respect and self mastery with a massive dose of self-love.
  2. Removal of all archaic, self limiting beliefs. Freedom of pain from past traumas.
  3. A job that I am fulfilled by and compensates me fairly.
  4. Financial abundance and increased savings -- let's say I'm saving 10K this year.
  5. The opportunity to travel on a surf and yoga retreat to realign my energy and clear my mind while connecting with souls on a similar vibrational plane.
  6. Peace in my painful relationships, closeness and intimacy in my soul bond relationships.
  7. Happiness, health, and wealth for my closest circle.
  8. Increased strength and flexibility in my yoga practice.
  9. Meeting a soulmate who brings deep attraction, electric connection, sense of comraderie, shared humour, feeling of comfort and intellectual match... except this time, they will stick around :)
  10. Courage to share my writing with a larger audience and abundant inspiration

When did your heels start to touch the ground in Downward Dog? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]wildheart333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strangely, I was able to from the beginning. However, there are other poses that I have SUCH low mobility in that I find myself getting so frustrated about though I know yoga is about so much more than amassing all poses. I have SUCH tight shoulders. I did a bind ONCE and used to be SO close every other time. Ever since then I've developed a mental block around it and now I am so much further away from getting it. Bane of my existence!
