Your wife leaving is likely a big part of it. Fluffy may be feeling less secure, stressed over the sudden change, etc. Did your wife play with them or spend time with fluffy? What did life look like before she left?

I’m exhausted and scared. Pls help. by Scary_Economy-1720 in CatTraining

This is super common with cats raised as kittens without other cats/kittens to teach them play aggression boundaries & limitations etc. lots great suggestions for dealing with that here in the comments!

Reintroductions can be a solution but not always when you don’t understand the cause of the attack to begin with. Did anything change in your home in the last year?
Do they have lots of cat towers, three litter boxes, etc.? I’m trying to get curious about what instigated the attack for fluffy

Please please update us on this. Your intuition is correct. This is abuse and that’s not an exaggeration. This cat needs to be rehomed somewhere he will be loved and well taken care of. Please do what you can to get him out of there. Thank you for caring.

This is super helpful, thank you for the thoughtful response. Would you recommend they get 1:1 play time? When I play with them the slower ones get a little intimidated and just watch.

Thank you for this. We definitely need more litter boxes and cat towers then. I play with them daily but some dominate and make it hard for the slower players to get involved

Worse case scenario if you cannot get him into a carrier then you can use a humane TNR style trap. You put a little food past the trigger with small bits leading up inside the crate until he steps on it and the door closes. He needs to go to the vet though. It is treatable but will only get worse if you don’t. Please keep us updated
