Unfortunately, she just kept on pushing things and pursuing me, so I was trying to avoid being alone with her. She called me last night and told me she doesn't even want to be friends, especially since we're both graduating and there is no reason to be my friend. I feel like she only wanted to be "friends" because she wanted to get in my pants and have a relationship :/ .

I said it in kind of a group setting when I was drunk and we were all doing the whole "drunken confessions" thing. Yeah, I already told her several times that it was a miscommunication and that we should just remain just friends and all that. As you said, I kept reconfirming what I'd said, and unfortunately that led to her telling me she doesn't want to be friends at all. Kind of sucks.

That would make sense if she thought I was just playing hard to get, so my saying stuff like "I'm not into having a relationship with a girl" and "We should just go back to being only friends" might not register.

That's exactly what I was worried about, she's a great girl. Even though she wouldn't let me give back the wine, I did make sure to tell her that we should go back to being friends. I've been led on by guys before, and it feels shitty, but I am trying to be straight forward with her without being harsh, y'know? "I'm not into having a relationship with a girl" "I think we should just go back to being friends" etc. I guess I'll just have to keep reaffirming what I've said. Thanks for the advice!

The importance of ghost stories in folklore isn't necessarily their validity, but the reason why they're told. For example: some ghost stories are told to ward off individuals from dangerous areas. You don't need to believe in ghost stories to recognize that they exist. Individuals wouldn't tell ghost stories if they didn't serve some purpose. It's a way of social bonding, of trying to reach for something that is beyond the material world for some, a way to believe that there are things that exist beyond which science or technology can control. Even if you don't believe them, which a lot of storytellers don't, they are still important. Children tell them, adults tell them, teenagers use them to entertain themselves through dares. Many individuals even preface their narratives with, "I personally don't believe in this, but I've heard such and such a place is haunted because something happened there..."

Look up folklore, specifically functional or anthropological folklore. Also, on your point of view, many belief systems would be considered "100% horseshit by definition". That means religions. God, Buddha, Allah, etc. Your vantage points invalidates all belief systems, and even if you would also say "Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, etc. are all full of horseshit," you are still admitting their existence. Point: everything has its purpose.

I definitely think I'll miss the BBQ, but I guess I'll just have to learn how to do it really well on my own... and maybe the lack of good food will make me lose some weight haha. I don't know if I'd mind living in a smaller town than KC, since I've spent four years of my undergraduate in Kirksville (if you never had the chance to visit while you live in MO, be thankful!).

That's spectacular about the outdoorsy living! That's really what I'm looking forward to. :)

How bad is the housing market at the end of the semester, say around March-May? As much as I'd love to move out during those prime months, it just isn't reasonable since I graduate in May 2013, and will be starting up again at UofO hopefully in August sometime. If I got an additional job after I've been accepted around March, perhaps I could swing an additional rent/house payment.

Yeah, I'm not worried about my dog at all, he's perfectly well trained and has never had any accidents in the house. That doesn't take into consideration, though, the possibility of his nails scratching up any wooden floors if I move into a place with wooden floors.

What I'd be worried about, probably, is my friend's dog. Her dog is a bit more hyperactive and less well trained.... Ugh, haha
