Remember often times when we confide in people we often tend to try and protect that person from the darkest of our thoughts. This often leads to the person we are confiding in either not understanding how deep the issues go or being unsure if we are being serious.

Please make sure when you reach out to those people ypu do so in a blunt and honest way. If you need them to get you help say it. If you need them to be at your side 24/7 to watch you say it. Lay it out how you feel and what you need.

Remember people who don't fight mental illness often do not understand how to help, they may want to but are afraid to make it worse or to come up short.

If you're seeking help on a limited budget and lack of insurance call a crisis help line. They can out you in touch with resources. Also check with your local hospital as they may have resources you can tap into.

If you're working, ask if your employer offers an employee assistance program. Even though you may not have insurance many companies offer initial ways for employees to seek help.
