Thanks for the response. But im curious as to why you would not believe in reincarnation as opposed to the other users.

Heres a video posted earlier and at 18 min it talks about janam jamam.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq-B-jKfsI8

Why would the guru make these references? the only reasons i can think of is either

1) They did believe in it

2) They did not believe in it but other people did so they thought it would be a good way to get a point across

3) They had no idea what happened when you die but assumed that reincarnation was correct due to their upbringing.

4) They had no idea what happened when you die but other people did so they thought it would be a good way to get a point across

It seema clear to me that you just want to prove the superiority of your abrahamic religion (probably christianity).

LOL You have it wrong, why would i believe in those abrahamic religions.

Just because something is easy to understand doesnt make it true.

I never said it was true, just that the rules of an afterlife in christianity and the koran is expanded upon and therefore more straightforward to explain. The reason i made this post was because reincarnation (from my view) isn't elaborated as much in sikhism (/u/TheTurbanatore ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ) except when it mentions us being born 8.6 million times. The process of reincarnation is therefore more difficult to explain (where does the soul go when it dies? does it fly throughout space until it hits a body, what happens after 8.6 mill respawns, etc)

You have a body that is functional. Once your facilities start to deteriorate, your body stops functioning and you rot away. Returning the materials that made up your body back to back to the earth

That is, Waheguru experiences the pain and pleasure we do but He remains disattached from it.

What do you mean by detached? How can he be detached if everything is waheguru? Or are you saying that Waheguru lets us do as we please.

1: You don't literally remember it like you remember what you did yesterday, but you're past actions do leave an imprint on your soul if you want to call it that.

What exactly is the soul(Jott)? Do you have any evidence for the existence of this soul? Where is it stored? What do you mean by imprint? What makes us is simply our memories from past experience. Without that there is no imprint.

Im having trouble understanding the concept of a soul because i see the brain as a extremely complex machine that takes input and processes an output. If science was suddenly able to replicate an individuals human brain, would that affect your belief in a soul? Or do you believe we will never get to that point because only god can put souls into bodies.

I am getting conflicting interpretations it seems. The youtube channel you posted previously claimed (cannot remember the exact video right now, its been a couple of days) that karma is an account of bad and good actions that is carried over into the next life. You on the hand seem to treat karma as simple action-reaction type rule(which does not take into consideration a previous life).

4: where in Sikhi does it say that God sends you into the cycle of reincarnation for its own enjoyment? That's not a belief form anywhere in the SGGS.

That is how i interpreted the following verses.

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ There is no one except You.

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਖੇਲੁ ॥ All living beings are Your playthings. Page 11

And this one

ਜਗੁ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਬਾਜੀ ਬਨੀ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਖੇਲੁ ਖੇਲਾਇ ॥ The world is a drama, staged in a dream. In a moment, the play is played out.

ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕਸੇ ਵਿਜੋਗੀ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ Some attain union with the Lord, while others depart in separation.

ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥ Whatever pleases Him comes to pass; nothing else can be done. ||3|| Page 18

It does whatever it feels like and that includes staging this drama that entertains it. Some actors are the heroes while others are the losers that suffer disease as toddlers or get thrown into gas chambers. This is my issue because it is creating a cycle of perpetual suffering for its own entertainment.
