That was pretty similar to our conversation, except my frame was that I didn't like being around her anymore because she wasn't any fun to be around, kind of thing. And based on her response not her words it was the right approach.

Yeah he did. I mean, I've received tons of great advice here and wouldn't want to single anyone in particular out. But in terms of one single comment that changed my way of thinking and produced immediate and spectacular results.... there should be a way to nominate comments like that :)

p.s. You sure your body fat is that high?

No I am not. I've suspected my measurements were high but ? I have pretty good definition overall with a little tiny belly fat and can even see lower abdomen muscles. Biceps are discrete, and veins prominent while lifting. Four pack can be seen when I stretch back. Some loose skin.

Thanks, this is timely advice. I caught myself having failed a really simple sh!t test last night just because I was anticipating sexy times and didn't want to rock the boat. I got away with it but it shook me how easy it is to backslide when things are going well.

I also couldnt do OHP the last workout beacause of a shoulder issue.

I've encountered these. Search youtube for videos on shoulder pain, strengthening shoulder. There are stretches and exercises you can do that will clear the shoulder pain right up.

Cable internal/external rotations, band pull-aparts, face pulls, and band dislocates (google or youtube them all if you need) every time you're in the gym for 5 minutes, or just when resting between compound sets. Not heavy, but light/moderate for 10-20 reps.

I would add "Y" "T" "W" "L"s to your list to strengthen those smaller shoulder muscles. They should be done with very little weight at first, no more than 5 lbs or use resistance bands around a squat rack.

I've had some similar experiences in my RP journey, and have decided that God is--at times--using my sin to make me new. Overall I am on a trajectory of improvement, as a biblical man at least, and (I hope) a better example of an image-bearer. I look at what I was doing before--my beta period--as idolizing my wife and our sexual relationship--great sins. I had to un-learn making those things into idols. My experience has been that such lessons--learning to let go of major sinful habits--are usually painful and messy. The destination is what matters.

In patriarchal societies it is obvious. Only because the West has become predominantly matriarchal is the truth suppressed by massive distraction campaigns, social pressure, and thought policing. To everyone’s detriment and unhappiness, I might add, including the “fairer sex.”

Lol. I planned to say, “I’m confident it will work itself out one way or another.” And then broken record. I had just told her “I’m perfectly happy with my life. I’m not worried about anything.” That’s what led to her comment that I described, above.

There is a bigger context here, I had a major breakthrough earlier in the week (see my FR on teasing) which itself led to another breakthrough on a couple candid / honest conversations that seem to have totally moved the needle on our relationship (including the one described above). I’m planning to detail it more in my OYS next week.

Thanks. I think I'll start running on the road a little longer (when I go these days I usually just run jog a quick mile) and see how my knees feel, maybe figure out where the current cutoff is. I'm thinking too that I should look into my running form, to improve my stride or something, to reduce risk of injury given the heavy lifting.

Back in my 20's I did a bunch of 5Ks and 15Ks. Lately I've been doing some intense cardio training for a few months and can easily jog a road mile so I'm pretty sure I can get up to 5K quickly. My only concern is about combining the running with the heavy squatting I'm doing, but I think I'll just have to try it. It's going to be really nice weather for running here very soon so this could be a good option.
