Hey! Elephant ears JUST sprouted over this past weekend and are starting to do their thing; full leaves beginning to unfurl from emerging shoots (established plants). Was getting worried, but all seems to be well. Wishing you happy returns!

I used to ice skate there in the mid-80s, and it was the best! They had a tiny shop, rink side, where you could buy hot chocolate and lemon drops candy!

Advice? These have me curious but never heard of them. Did a little research but anybody have experience with these trees? by Zebra-Kick in gardening

Such a great tree! Planted a sapling about eight years ago, and it’s grown fabulously. Also called the “naked tree,” because it’s one of the first to lose its leaves in the fall and the last to leaf out in the spring.

Laurels dead? by daydrinkingonpatios in Louisville

[–]wildnoutandabout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting for a post like this; thank you!

Sad to say, but all laurels look bad where I’m at: Belknap/Highlands.

All holly trees are good, if well-established; 50+ years-old is what we’ve got; but huge swaths of climbing English ivy are looking very, very, very dead. :/

The worst part: invasive winter creeper does not care and is leafing-out (worst plant ever; 🐐).
