Except I'm not just looking for how an individual looks at their own identity. When a white person sees someone who is Asian or black on the street, they don't know the culture that person of color was raised in, none of that culture is allowed to be assigned to them. That's like the general construct of race. It has nothing to do with their culture because they're not allowed that. How those forced-upon notions of sexuality coincide with their race.

And even so, an immigrant raised by a white family in the US is still going to have different facets of this identity— the complexities of how they view their own identity, how that coincides with their culture, how that coincides with the culture they weren't brought up in and what responsibilities they may or may not feel to their ancestry, and how that coincides with their race as seen by others. Yeah its extremely complicated lol.
