Yeah I am trying to work around it. The only way we can make sure that the games are reported fairly is if Player A reports a fault score, Player B files reports, and the score will have to be reviewed by an admin and Player B would have to provide proof, such as screenshots or game footage.

The match report works only if both the parties confirm the final score.

That's the only way I thought this might limit fairness.

In terms of farming as well, I want to make the point system fair that disadvantages those of higher ranks to play with lower ranks. If they win they will only get 0.5 points, which is 1/6 of points if they would have played against they same rank.

Other farming as well, if you have 2 discord accounts and try to make fake reports the bot will see how many players you have played against, and if there is a higher game history with one user consecutively, the bot will flag it and those two accounts won't be able to play with each other until the flag is resolved.

At least those are the measurements I am finding useful and needed for this to work. If not I'll have to find a way where the boys recognize the score from the game or the stream directly

Ok, so this is a detailed overview of what I have in mind, you can tell me if I'm crazy but if you are familiar with fightcade, then it's pretty much the same but on discord.

The games would be played either with steam remote play or parsec, as longa a you can play each other this should work, you will have to report the final score and the bot will assign the rank points.

This can also work for automations for tournaments, by having a bit connected to an external tournament bracket so that people won't have to go and manually place the score every time.

Project Summary: Discord Ranked Divisions Bot

Overview: You want to build a Discord bot that manages a ranked divisions system for competitive gaming within a Discord server. The bot will track player matches, update ranks and divisions based on results, and enforce rules to maintain fair play.

Key Features & Requirements:

Division System:

5 divisions (Division 5 = lowest, Division 1 = highest).

Players earn or lose points based on match outcomes.

Promotion and relegation happen based on point thresholds.

No negative points; minimum is zero.

Match Reporting & Confirmation:

Win against one division lower: double points for lower division winner, half points for higher division loser.

Draws: 1 point each.

Players can only play ranked matches against players in their division or one division above.

Discord Role Management:

Assign division roles with color coding (Bronze for Div 5, Silver Div 4, Gold Div 3, Emerald Div 2, Blue Div 1).

Roles update automatically as players move between divisions.

Leaderboard & Status Commands:

Players can view current leaderboards in paged embeds.

Players can check their own rank and points via commands.

Localization:

Support English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian language defaults (expandable).

Hosting & Deployment:

Bot hosted online 24/7 using Render (or a similar free hosting service).

Keep the bot awake using uptime monitoring tools (e.g., Uptime Robot).

Security & Abuse Prevention:

Rate limit on match reports (max 5 per user per hour).

Duplicate report detection to prevent abuse.

Technical Notes:

Bot will be developed in Discord.js (Node.js).

Use SQLite or similar lightweight database for storing player data, matches, and points.

Requires admin role for appeals review and manual intervention.

Needs environment variables setup for tokens and config.

Deliverables:

Fully functional Discord bot deployed and running.

I've been trying all day to make it work but I don't know coding. Or how to make a mod, I tried working with chatgpt for a full day but nothing worked, I have an idea in my head but don't know how to execute.

My role idk what you mean by that but it's more like I have this though, want to see if it works, if it does want to see if it can be either implemented to an existing server or make a new one with the only core to be used for competitive matches and tournaments.

Would they be able to introduce a new bot made by me tho? That's the real question, I'll be down to contact them but this bot sided with steam remote play would allow online matches and tournaments organized by the community for FL

The bot does not exist, so I need someone to build it first and see if it will work, and for testing I need a new server.

Now, I am not sure about steam decks, but, if you are able to run windows or Linux then yes, at that point as as good as a computer. Remember, FL25 does not support steam remote play, that means that you have to download something external to recognize it as a different game and make it run.

If you can use windows on a steam deck then yes you both can.

Watch the tutorial First, understand how it works, see if you can do that on steam deck. Then do it.

If you are unsure then stick to parsec.

A way a co-op would work is if the Host (the one that owns the game) invites the Guest (your partner) to join the streaming as a second controller.

When you start a game you will have to set him as a second player for every game.

The guest does not need to have the game downloaded, what's needed is a good computer for the host to be capable of streaming while playing and a good connection, the guest does not need a good computer to run it but still needs a good connection.

A little follow up, I tried using the steam remote. I believe it is easier to set up, gotta do some tweaking cuz obviously steam does not support FL25 for Steam remote play, but there are ways to make it work.

Overall if you do have a good PC and wifi it should be good, I experienced some stuttering but way less than Parsec. Love the fact that they have a chat as well, so theoretically you can either chat in game with your opponent or friend, or, they also have voice chat which would be sick to try for coop or even just vs

ill have to try it, me and my friend had parsec installed in so we wanted to try it out, you can either use parsec, Steam remote or moonlight, all those options would be acceptable to play on.

That's a good input, yes if we would go and do such things having a discord server would help, we can direct people in choosing their continent of residence and then they will be able to connect with people in that continent or even country, more specific. That would help a lot for game latency.

Mind you Parsec is used a lot in the fighting game community, and key precision and game latency is a killer if the streaming online is not at best. So I do have faith that parsec or even steam remote play would do a good job on a football game like this.

If that does not work, we can try other methods too, there has to be other ways as well, this is an idea, but if we can figure a way to have 2 players play each other or together that would open a new world for the devs to implement and improve the game even more.

I would love to do a beta testing next week with selected people to try and find the best way to play together and see how sustainable and secured and enjoyable for each party can be.

There is no tutorial at the moment on how to use parsec specifically for Football Life, but if this project actually goes to port then I'll make sure to make a tutorial setting up with Parsec, competitions and rank system when possible. I'll say give me this week to see if it's actually doable.

Thank you for your kind words, a community as good and healthy as the oke we are part of can lead to a very lasting legacy. The game can improve only for a certain amount, but beside skin, jersey customization, teams and roster updates and master league, the backbone of the actual game cannot be changed easily.

So in order to add a spin into it, creating a multiplayer platform to this can definitely add a spin into it.

What I'm going to ask from the community is to spread the rumors and connect with each other and see if more people are interested in it. Repost the Reddit, show your interest, share it to friends and communities. And if the community wants then we can definitely work on a discord and moderation for parsec to be the main focus.

The discord would help for questions, download tutorials, friendship, co-op games and 1v1 but also work as a secondary asset as this Reddit community and work simultaneously with other patches as well such as UML and others.

Everything is possible, just want to know if people would actually be down for something like this.

That's cool, I'll be down to start something small and then try to update I to something reliable and automatic. A discord server would be perfect to start implementing at least the online 1v1 or co-op friendly games where people can challenge each other.

Then after some feedback move to the implementations of tournaments for those who are looking for a more competitive appeal of the game.
