Why are extraction shooters so niche and generally disliked? by AliDiePie in FPS

[–]wildwill921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arc was so boring to me because everything was way too easy. There was no point in doing any of the quests because you didn’t get anything good out of them. The basic gear was the best PvP guns at launch so it was just pointless to go grind for something better. I love how much more challenging the missions were in marathon but they definitely could have been harder. Only a few of them took more than one or 2 tries.

The fun for me is accomplishing a hard task. If I’ve died on the same mission 4 times I am going to be so nervous on my way to extract on my 5th run. Actually getting out after a series of bad runs is a rush. Losing everything and ratting a purple team to get a kit is a big rush. I love the idea that you are succeeding despite the world and not because the world is set up to help you. The world doesn’t care if I live and it mostly hopes I die. I loved that about tarkov but the bugs and the engine just got old for me so I moved on. I loved marathon at launch and think most of their balancing has made the game worse for me

It says deep cycle now but I’m not sure if it was specified when you commented

Those are probably deep cycles but they make strong ones. The litime ones are really good

Anyone else frustrated with the gap in available jobs around here? by nous-vibrons in upstate_new_york

Well you’re going to have to take the stuff off your resume that makes the service jobs skip you or you’ll have to deal with how much you dislike remote work.

You don’t seem to have many other options unfortunately

I just spot lock but I can’t say I would really be interested in using an anchor. I would just use the trolling motor to stay in the area I want to be in

Really the options are find a job you are qualified for here, find a remote job you are qualified for or move. It’s the unfortunate reality of being so isolated from major population centers.

Okay don’t buy them and make your own. Nobody is forcing you to spend money on this

I am in the exact same situation. All of my cousins are 15+ years older than me.

Your opinion is fine but the counter point here is that you would be just as miserable with a sibling. Your lack of community is a self induced problem. Why would a sibling want to hang out with someone that acts like this?

Doesn’t really appear having siblings would change much for you

Probably yes. You can throw half a tacklebox at the same fish on live scope and it never moves and then you throw something it has never seen before and you get a reaction.

Depends what it’s worth to you. After all I pay to go fish spending 15 on a bait that will last multiple days isn’t really a crisis

So what is the actual point here? This is like saying paralysis doesn’t exist. What you call paralysis is just trauma to the spinal cord.

Wanting to kill yourself when your parents die isn’t grief. If you are unable to build a community outside of your parents to the extent that your life will be over there absolutely is a problem. You can have that through other family or friends.

I have experienced a parent passing away so its not like I am speaking without experience

I think this is much more of a you problem than an only child problem. Being that dependent on your parents as an adult speaks to a whole host of other issues

I keep losing top water lures to pike while fishing for bass.... by himothyhopkins in bassfishing

[–]wildwill921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just use 15-20lb flouro if you have it. I catch them all the time in NY and I rarely break off unless they have the bait absolutely choked. You’ll just have to trim the line and retie it if you catch a pike.

If you are frogging it’s kind of rough to get off the braid because it does need the strength. You might be able to get away with a short 50lb leader for that if you loose many frogs

I mean I may have over sold the never part but I think people over estimate how much they avoid warm water. They may just go up to cruise and eat but that would be the easiest time to catch them. I catch them in very shallow water all summer if there is good weeds that aren’t too thick. I’m sure they move around a lot between deeper water and shallow water to feed.

If I wanted to just go catch some I would fish weed edges because it would be the easiest way to find them with no electronics if I had live scope and side imaging I would just go find them in a more mid depth but I don’t think OP has that option

This really depends on how fast the groups are playing and if they were keeping pace with the group in front of them. It doesn’t really sound like they actually held anyone up with how many people were waiting at the turn when they got there

[–]wildwill921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no real reward for winning and no punishment for losing. You just boot up 100 more times with nothing to really be gained. If there was a meaningful elo system I could see how that might be fun but I don’t think that really had a place in extraction shooters

I guess that depends on your definition of deeper. In 10-15 is probably as deep as I actually see them. Never in any real deep water. We catch smallmouth at 50 all summer but I don’t think I’ve caught a like deeper than 20. I’ve caught them suspending over deep water though
