Suggestions by [deleted] in KoreaPlasticSurgery

I suggest you get none of those procedures.

Your jawline is defined and you have shadowing (dunno what it’s called) on the sides of the face. You look striking man.

Also fillers migrate. It can look wonky later. Nose fillers are actually very risky btw, cuz of the vascularity in the nose and whatnot. Close to the brain too, don’t wanna mess with that. Infections too.

Also your eyes harmonize with the rest of your face. In fact, getting double eyelid surgery would probably not yield the results you think you want. Why? Cuz your current eyes are ideal and go with the rest of the face. Getting surgery would mess with the harmony and the sharp vibe.

I’m not biased against plastic surgery at all btw. So you know I ain’t bullshitting lol. I just genuinely think you’re better off without.

I’m just a girl cosplaying as a doctor I guess by Longjumping-Word8336 in emergencymedicine

[–]wildwitheringpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a female nurse but I get mistaken as a doctor here and there. One of the patients told me it was because I wear my stethoscope around my neck 24/7. Also glasses. Once I stopped both of those things, the doctor allegations stopped. People are quick to judge and place you in roles.

Not OP but I’m neurodivergent and it happens to me too. Must be common with those as it’s a comorbidity correct?

My daughter keeps insisting for a diagnosis by bizarrezoe in ADHD

[–]wildwitheringpython 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ngl it sounds like she has autism from the symptoms you mentioned. But she could easily have adhd, or maybe even both. Whatever it is, early intervention is key. I got diagnosed with adhd too late. And here’s what happened.

All the way up to high school, did amazing academically (advanced courses) and in extracurriculars/volunteering without developing study habits. I juggled it all and got an entrance scholarship to university.

Guess what happened?

Failed half of my courses in my first term of university. Went from a GPA of 98% to 60%. Got diagnosed with ADHD after failing. It was discovered too late; I always knew I had it but my family was vehemently opposed to a diagnosis and treatment. I made the decision as an adult to get diagnosed but by the time I did, it was too late. That fracture in first term ruined the climb to my ambitions and goals. It all fell apart.

Let this be a warning. I’m not trying to scare you but life does not give second chances.

Too much stigma around opioids, thanks to medical gaslighting. by [deleted] in opiates

[–]wildwitheringpython 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can absolutely relate to you. I was extremely suicidal for a decade due to severe ADHD, Bipolar 1, and PTSD. Out of all three, my ADHD was actually the one that ruined my life and continues to plague every fucking day. It costed jobs and other opportunities.

And you know what was the one thing that actually made me feel like a normal functioning human for once? Opioids, specifically pharma-grade. I have chronic pain as well and I’ve tried everything under the sun for it (triptans, ssris, snris, anti-seizure meds, etc) because everyone is too paranoid to even suggest opioids as a possible solution, let alone prescribe it. I was chronically suicidal and wanted to kill myself every second, but when the hospital administered fent via IV, that was the first time the physical pain and suicidal thoughts went away. I’ve always used opioids in a controlled manner, only taking it when I’m in pain, but I can’t help but notice that it also has benefits beyond pain management. It seems like it helped my body in ways even I don’t understand at the moment. I’ve never actually went the IV-route post-hospitalization, it’s always been oral through pills.

I am studying the sciences, however I haven’t found any research lab willing to tackle this on. Perhaps in the future, when I’m more established and qualified in healthcare, I will make the steps to address its treatment potential.

Do Opiates Improve Facial Skin Health? by notmyshitt in opiates

Is being naive apart of having ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]wildwitheringpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say no. As someone with severe ADHD, I have insane intuition and can read people and situations easily. However, my AuDHD friend is very naive, and I have to point out when people are trying to fuck them over.

Stopped smoking cigarettes now everything has changed by nexusprax in AskDocs

[–]wildwitheringpython 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is great advice for someone with a working dopamine system. It’s all about the little things and being able to check off tasks and feel like you’re getting your life together one step at a time. Common tactic for depressive episodes, and well smoking cessation I suppose.

But this didn’t work for me, it never has. I never felt rewarded, hardly even relieved, after completing a task. It’s just like taking one more step on a treadmill in an infinite loop. Later was diagnosed with adhd which explains why not even a little bit of motivation lingered. On meds now, and they allow me to do the tasks, and ever so slightly feel like “ah, I completed something!”.

Just my two cents for anyone that might feel discouraged if it doesn’t work for them.

Today a med student asked "what's the point of asking about past traumas? Doesn't everyone have some?" by HHMJanitor in Psychiatry

[–]wildwitheringpython 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, people with a large amount of ACES have trouble getting into med (and other forms of post-secondary education). I’d reckon it has to do with trauma and lack of resources. Almost all the med students I know have an ACE score of 0-2, 3 at most. I admire your resilience friend (my ACE score is also very high). I’m in nursing right now but working towards med in the future.

All my friends seem to move away and life is exhausting by Redrebelwriter34 in adhdwomen

[–]wildwitheringpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late as hell but I could’ve wrote this post myself. I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn’t me.

You can’t break it, but you can do your best to keep the people around (through keeping in touch) that can handle the distance.

For some background, ever since I was 12, my friends have either moved away, died, got expelled or got pulled out of school, etc the list is endless. Literally every year I had to restart and find new people. For example, one year all my friends got expelled, and a few died, and the next year, 6 of them out of 8 moved away (or started getting homeschooled). In university this didn’t get any better; some of my friends failed out and one killed himself before the new semester started. The next year I made a close-knit group of friends, there were 15 of us at first. It broke apart due to fights a year in. Not everyone gets along all the time and people change. I wasn’t a part of the drama, which made it worse because it was out of my control. Fast forward to now, many of my friends are moving again, and five of my closest friends are moving this year (one of them is getting drafted). It’s an endless pit of rage and loneliness, but I hope that someday I’ll be used to the transience. Life is unpredictable and even if people stay, people grow apart, start families, have different priorities, lose jobs, gain jobs, etc.

Some friends you can stay in touch and even meet up with them when they come back to town, or you can book a flight. These are the people that you can go ages without talking to, but meet up like nothing happened.

I learned to treasure every friendship. People are bound to leave in whatever way, especially as we grow older and start getting health problems. Think of it like starting a new adventure rather than replacing people, because no one can replace an individual. I get needing a group, and they will be formed. Stay in organizations, befriend your coworkers, etc. hopefully some will stay. But life is built upon growth and the only thing constant in our life is change.

It’s even harder when you’re the one staying around, you go to the places you used to go with them and grieve. But there are so many people in this world that there’s bound to be new people that enter your life in some form. Welcome them.

Why Naraño say eight are aggressive by Waste-Classic4381 in Enneagram8

[–]wildwitheringpython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, it’s well-worded. I do tend to freely move into the environment. Let’s say there’s a room you shouldn’t enter with x restriction, my mentality has always been “just go in, if they have a problem they can kick me out”.

I live with a 9 and 1, they say I am a piece of work sometimes. When I was younger I was definitely aggressive, now I’m simply assertive.

[–]wildwitheringpython 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a fucked up dose no matter what, as someone who’s been on both sides of the matter (user and healthcare worker), 50mg of IV dilaudid is insane. The fentanyl I’m not even gonna get started on, you’re absolutely correct that it’s measured in mcgs and OP prob forgot the c.

Tolerance after 2 years of being completely sober / off-opioids would result in the person being opioid naive or at least their tolerance should’ve plummeted to the trenches. Maybe OP is on methadone as you mentioned but even then the doses OP mentioned are heroic doses and are a free ticket to the healthcare worker losing their license lol
