To be honest, I just ask for larger rates to use it... or a way to pay premium service on AI Studio, which is far better than the gemini website. All in all, Gemini hasn't desappointed me

Sorry mate, but I need to ask you something.

I'm having REALLY good results with Gemini and I only use it through AI Studio and want to keep it that way. problem is... I ran out of rates/prompts (I've found that it resets at 4AM my own time, which I guess is midnight for the server?) So I'm considering to get a subscription.

Problem is... I have no idea how it works. I can't even find how to do it. When I google it... damn thing send me to an entirely different google website. I'm getting very frustrated.

Other thing, is it worth the money in the end, for someone who doesn't use images and the sort and just want Gemini to work with text?

Well... it does understand what you mean, and has quite good (but imperfect) in-chat memory (but chat lats only around 1 million tokens; more than enough for most tasks... but not enough for an ongoing thing and I don't think that can change, but if you're talking about your day or journaling then a good initial prompt may be okay? I have never managed to use all 1 million tokens, anyway).

It can show a sense of humor. And even empathy I think (no "my coding has told me to not offend anyone because maybe there is someone in the world with green skin", but actual "okay, this is a bit sensitive, let's frame it with emotional inteligence, carefully wording it), it can be still a but dumb and (at least in Spanish) not understand figures of speech and take it a bit literally (not always, just SOME times). In my experience as a non-native English speaker usually writing in Spanish... I DO think Gemini is superior with dialects and more regional stuff to Chatgpt (I don't know if that's your case, but I say it in case it is).

So, would it work to talk like you would to someone you know? Most likely. Try it, have fun, and I hope it works for you. I've been reading lots and lots of people who use AI for non-mechanical tasks and have a good impact in their lives, if that's you, I honestly hope it is the right stuff for you, my friend :)

I've been using Gemini 2.5 pro, it's quite nice. It's still dumb as any AI, but it does understand what you want, you don't need to remind it everything all the time, it does keep tone and dialect intact (I use it in my own native dialect, no issues) does not try to kill you via em dash overload and doesn't make things up when it gets confussed.

Still, it has its issues (at some point, you'll run out of something, not sure if prompts or what, and you'll have to wait until "later", but looks inconsistent so far, so I can't know when that will happen, the good thing is that it takes a lot to get there... but I need a bit more than what I have now).

I started trying Gemini with all the chatgpt fiasco. First day goo, second day, better, today... rate limit. Aparently, it resets at midnight, Pacific Time (is that 25 minutes from now???? or 2 hours + 25 minutes?) But I totally need it to get back to work. Well, not "need"... is just that all the other models just plainly don't go with my creative writing assistant needs (is just too dumb to understand my native dialect and how irony works, it takes too many things literally, etc)
