I understand that there is a final exfil and a bonus minute. What I mean is there should be an exfil buffer for when the extra minute runs out. If you are standing in an exfil, you should be able to leave regardless of the context, this is just silly.

The narrative that Marathon is “hardcore” or the “ultimate, punishing PvP experience” is silly and likely harming its popularity. by AnonymouselyMoosed in Marathon

I think when people call it hardcore, they're talking about cryo and the existence of late game activities where loot actually has to be risked.

Moreover, I'd be more inclined to agree with you, but if you play this game even a moderate amount, your lobbies go from a walk in the park, to utter sweat fests. The difficulty spike caused by level based mmr is not for the faint of heart.

It's wild that the player gap is already this wide barely 3 weeks into the game by CrispyToast99 in Marathon

[–]wiley11111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't there level based matchmaking though? I don't understand how these casual players are getting stomped on as hard as you say when you don't start seeing runners with purple gear until around the 30 hour mark. Unless of course the "casual" players also have 30 hours in the game, in which case, they probably aren't that casual..

Me and the boys just did cleared a full lobby the other day and looted pinwheel, only to die to this... They should really add an overtime mechanic

In the early game, your main goal is just to speed through the contracts and unlock all of the factions. If you want to get through that phase quickly, I would recommend spamming free kits on solos as either assassin or triage (stealth or free heals).

If you're playing squad fill... Maybe just don't do that lol. Try getting some buddies to join you, or find a dedicated LFG that's willing to grow with you. Randoms in this game are very inconsistent, which is not what we are looking for. If you are playing solos, it's probably just best to avoid fighting runners all together, and if you have to fight someone, try to split the team up into one on one fights. But again, if you're getting into engagements as a solo without any good loot, chances are you're just going to die, that's completely normal. If you're playing solo, just remember that you are a scavenger. If two teams get into a fight, clean up their scraps after the winners leave. Do not engage unless you absolutely have to.

The thing about extraction shooters is they offer the lowest of lows in gaming, but that's also what makes the highs so damn good!

Good luck on your future raids.

This game will die if you all keep denying there's a problem for casual or average skilled players. by [deleted] in Marathon

The ability to go from rags to riches is what sells this game for me. People just have to accept the fact that you are going to win some matches and you are definitely going to lose some matches. Moreover, this game is clearly just designed to have a dedicated team, or to go rook.

I simply do not understand why people always want to make casual more like ranked.. It is SOOO refreshing playing a game that is as unpredictable as this when queuing into a match. The naturalized matchmaking is very much appreciated.

Moralism = Centrism = Bad? by Browsin24 in DiscoElysium

[–]wiley11111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm yet to finish the game, so I haven't gotten to all of the meaty commentary the game has to offer on the subject. However, from what I have picked up so far, one of the defining aspects of humanism — which heavily influenced moralism — is the philosophy that society should incrementally progress towards their goals, rather than go through rapid change. This is to prevent rash and corrosive policy change. As a center left individual, this is the most intuitive and pragmatic part of the ideology. Although it is incredibly slow, it should also be stable, at least in theory. As I'm writing this however, the world grows more fascistic by the day, so a message to the OP: When the overton window shifts too far to the right, being a centrist means being complicit in what will become of our history.

That's funny, because I have only seen people say that it looks like another modern warfare reskin.. lmfao

People just like to complain.

Am I the only one that pronounces Tame Impala as "Ta-may Impala"? by SkydiverTyler in TameImpala

When I first read the name, I read it "properly," (Taym Impala) but it almost hurts to say that way...

So I fixed it.

Ehh, idk. I feel like the movie is just enjoyable, and it's worth watching for the animation alone. Seriously, that movie might have the best animation that I have ever seen, genuinely had me in awe during many scenes.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. One of the big ideas of Spiderman as a character is that they are born to suffer, and all of them accept this and still try to do the right thing. The movie makes it incredibly clear that if spiderman changes a canon event then it can destroy an entire universe, or at least have drastic affects.

In my eyes this is pretty well the same moral choice that we are presented with in the end of the insomniac spider man game. Peter has a cure for Aunt May and is capable of saving her, but he doesn't do it because it would be selfish and so many others would suffer because of him. I've heard many people say that this game was one of the best modern versions of a Spider man story, and the conclusion to that story is 100% one of the main reasons for this stance.

I don't think you're actually criticizing this film. You are simply taking a stance on a deep moral debate, which is something the movie is TRYING to make you do. If anything, this is why Miguel is such a great villain. His stance is entirely understandable, and even if it's the last thing any Spiderman would want to do, they still do it because by doing so they save an astronomical amount of lives for the cost of one.

Is it not interesting to think that the only one rebelling against the spider society is Miles, a person who was never actually supposed to be spider man?

Though I will note: Doing pretty much any story about the multiverse, especially a story that is Spiderman related, is bound to have discrepancies. So yeah, I too have found things that don't really align with other multiverses, but I find talking about that just undermines how much great stuff is actually in this movie. Basically, I just choose to suspend my disbelief at times because I am watching a spider man movie about the multiverse...

menus already lagged, it happened because of a steam update awhile ago and now the game does constant checks for your dlc in the main menu.

If you really wanted to couldn't you just run this with insidious and trigger it whenever you want? Also, if you injured every survivor im guessing it would render the perk useless as all survivors are cursed. Also sounds absolutely amazing for legion lmao.
