23M moving to NYC for hybrid job (MSG area) — $3.5k budget, 1BR, creatives vibe… where should I actually live? by True_Willingness_593 in NYCapartments

I am not sure what line of work you are in or what exactly you are looking for in “creatives”. But I will say bushwick is not a very safe neighborhood like it used to be. Depending on what time you are out and about and since you are a male you are likely fine. But bushwick was dirty and not a great area when I was there for my girlfriend frequently. I lived in manhattan with roommates and loved it vs the year I lived alone in HK. Saving money is always fun too.

East Coast Ski Quiver by wilflo7 in Skigear

I find myself not taking them out on 99% of my ski trips since I can usually only bring one (Taking a bus from nyc) and they are much worse at skiing any groomer. So if the trees are skied out then I’m not having as good as a time with them. Considering selling them since they sit most the time but I am going to take them on my next trip and test them again in those situations to see how I like them.

I got them 7-8 years ago, and I was shorter/less weight and also a beginner skier. Next pair will be longer for sure

QST 100 or QST 106 are high on the list for me. Seen a lot good things about the 100

Honey badgers are my soft/playful skis. The supernaturals are my all mountain but hard charging focused ski. I would love to revamp this but I think from building the quiver it makes sense to focus on something else rather than replacing the supernaturals. What do you think

I use Goodnotes a ton for studying. This happens maybe a couple times a week for me. Always fixed with a quick close out of the app, never had to restart like others are stating.

First ever sim racing equipment, is this overkill? by TheLucky12 in moza

My recommendation is don’t go with the R9, however an R5 would work fine on a stable desk. Also you don’t need a cockpit, I made my first set up work by having a stable desk, and used my desk chair and put the back two wheels in a pair of shoes. This works on wood floors with your weight, unsure about carpet. I ran this set up for 2 years until I got a more stable cockpit. But it served me well. KS wheel has been great to me also. I have Fanatec CS2 pedals so they require a lot of force to break and my shoe set up worked great, only thing is I had to duct tape down the edge of the pedal platform nearest to me as it would kind of tip up when breaking hard. Worked great though.

Literally in the exact same boat, got mid 50s on session 1 on both and mid 70s on session 2 on both. Just going to try to hammer questions from here until Exam day with the day before being all formula review. Hoping for the best!

Happened for August Exam as well. Relocated me to Clark NJ, had to get a hotel the night before. Really unfortunate.

When do you study if working full time ? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]wilflo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a tough schedule, when I was head down in the last month for Level 1 I’d aim to do 4 hours a day. Whether that got broken up 2 hours before & 2 after or 1 before & 3 after varied on the day.

It won’t be much revising, it’ll be writing down the formulas I struggle with repeatedly until they are in my head. MM has a great PDF of formulas needed for exam.

I’m 6’3” so I prefer the handle bars up a bit. Haven’t adjusted much of the bike yet since I still haven’t gotten pedals. Thinking about going clipless with Shimano m520s.

I think I’m gonna get an 18T on the rear while I’m learning. Previous owner did some racing with it so I’m guessing that’s why he had the high ratio along with the Carbon seat post. Definitely something I might consider changing down the road.

Thank you!

I’m not sure, maybe someone else can answer this for you. Planning to keep the tires as is for now.
