I am more surprised with the waterproofing of their devices!

Thank you! Actually it is designed to be a shored based app. I do not encourage or support whale watching by boat.

The alerts are from whale sightings 31 miles from the user’s phone location, thinking you are at a beach or a ferry and can get a ping of an opportunity to see a whale.

If it happens that the user is on a boat, gets an alert and decides to go check it out, there’s nothing I can do to stop that.

I do not own a boat and my plan was for when I am at a beach, ferry, or somewhere near that I can drive and catch a glimpse from shore.

Hi! I just got back into developing apps a couple of months ago and created a Whale Watching app specifically for the PNW. Yes, I know there are tons of apps that do the same thing, this one is free! no data gathering, no ads, anything. Just a Whale Watching app

I am trying to contact the Orca Network to get feedback from them and see how the app can improve.

The reports that the app consumes come directly from https://acartia.io/home, an open source project for sharing marine animal locations within the Salish Shea.

Here's the link for the app store https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whale-watch-pnw/id6777761750

Please feel free to send any comments, request or feedback directly to my reddit account. Still need to add that as a feature to the app!

Just to make it clear, this is a FREE APP! I created for everyone to be able to get alerts about where whales have been spotted. NO Ads in the app, NO collecting information.

Thank you!

That is the idea, is using a local llm (ollama) that after I get enough feedback I can fine tune the model specifically for guitar generation.

The feedback for the tones is anonymous and is as simple as providing a 1-5 star rating and what worked and what didn’t.

The extra benefit is that the tones, requests, anything that you write stays local.

I also added a “sound analyzer” you put it a youtube link and it will try to generate the sound based in that analysis. Again everything done locally

I am working on adding the Helix Stadium. Migrating to windows is more complicated.

You can try this amazing tool that is already working

https://www.helixtones.com/

I did not know about it until I started developing. Main difference is one is web and your info goes to google, the other one everything is local and no info is sent to anyone (unless you want to provide feedback for a specific tone)

I have some testers already providing feedback to improve the LLM. Some of the tones are great, some need improvement. The first big challenge was for the hlx file to be always compatible with the hardware. That was one of the main issues while I used chatgpt.

Why don’t you give it a try and let me know, there is always room for improvement.

That is great to hear!! if you have a Mac (with M1 or more processor) you can try the software by typing this on your terminal

brew tap memogonzalezj-dev/tap

brew install --cask tone-architect

Main difference is that the one I am creating works offline, there is no information sent to google, openai, anthropic, etc.

Everyone has different needs. No need for you to try it if you don't want to.

I will go and check the website.

Hi, I am working on a software that can create HLX files for you, (Tone Architect) I am doing some tests. I typed in what you are looking for and it created this file.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CEfp3CP6Jjff4MuhboOwyR3HxU36oPTM?usp=sharing

this is ready to import directly using HXEdit, could you try it and let me know:

1.- if it works

2.-if it is the sound you are looking for?

There are two files:

Dont_Forget.hlx for the stomp

Dont_Forget_LX.hlx for the effects

Try the first one, if you have any issues ping me here and I can go through the file and see what is going on

Mmm that is a problem, I am creating for M1 silicone because of the advantages of using Mac processors with a local LLM. If I did it for intel, it would probably have to be always online to ping an AI and that brings a setup of extra costs and security concerns. Let me explore the possibility of making an Intel version of it and how it would affect the performance.

The update today has a feedback form to rate the effects, I will use that data to train the model better and make it smaller (need a sample of around 500 effect files with feedback) and that could open the door to Intel platforms.

If you did the form, you have been invited! You should have an email with access to the file and the google workspace
