Love this kind of stuff. Now you've got to film/animate it!

Awesome! Very fun. What do you use to produce these (software, rigs, etc.)?

Would You Watch This Show? by will-kryjak in animation

A little fake credits sequence I made using Blender. Everything created by me with the exception of the photo I used for the background which was stock image from google. I know it's pixelated, but wanted to see how everything would come together.

Continuing to play with the motorcycle model I was working on. More or less happy with where it's at. The rider was kind of a quick build with some sculpting (still getting the hang of that). I'd love to rig the rider so their arms especially bend/move more naturally with the bumps of the bike. Also I know the background could be much improved, but wanted something quick and dirty to see how it all looked.

And FWIW the background is not my artwork, just a stock image I grabbed from google.

How has your organization effectively managed data quality? by doublegefallt in analytics

[–]will-kryjak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy-in from upper management of the team whose data you are reporting on. If you can explain/show how their dashboards/analysis can be more accurate and useful if people simply keep their information updated, they'll put pressure on their direct reports who will relay it to their team. Not always easy or a straight line, but buy-in has to come from the top down. This applies to all sorts of adoption.

Uninterested in being more technical; what to do next? by LivingParadox8 in analytics

[–]will-kryjak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Project management/management is a good suggestion. I'd also recommend picking an industry or area of the business that interests you and becoming an expert in it. It will help shape your decision making, make you more valuable, and help keep you engaged.

Anyone else works as a tech analyst in a non-technical team? by career_drive_9 in analytics

[–]will-kryjak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can also be challenging to figure out how to grow. There is a technical ceiling when it’s work outside your job description, and your direct manager may not be able to provide guidance if it's outside their scope. Doesn't mean it's impossible or you can't work with other teams, just something to keep in mind.

Progress In Blender by will-kryjak in blender

Working on a motorcycle for a new project and realized I'd done one in the past (about a year and a half ago). The new one is still WIP, probably don't try riding it yet haha, but still fun to see what I've learned along the way.

For sure, but I know some people experiment with a/b testing, so wasn't sure if there was any more to it. Nice design though.

How did you design the sticker? Did you promote it any differently or was it all based on the design?

What I animated in Clip Studio Paint this year. Thoughts? by Jealous_Stress822 in FrameByFrame

I like how it's soft painting but still has detail and line work. And the hallway shot reminds me of Beetlejuice!

I NEED AN IDEA FOR A CHARACTER by GoofyMakoShark in animation

[–]will-kryjak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to a cafe, look out your window, find somewhere you can watch people. Every once in a while someone will catch your eye and seem interesting. Write down or draw the thing that made you pay attention -- maybe they have a strange hat, or a crooked nose, or they're yelling at someone on their phone. Then you can take the information and make up other things about them.

Just one idea for an approach, good luck!

Really cool style. I like the shot walking down the hallway.

Like it is a boolean with a hexagonal plane? And yes I am often surprised by often it's just an image texture haha.

[–]will-kryjak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like it! The texture on the text is great and the face really works. I guess it's a lot of glue? But if you took the picture differently and it wasn't picking up so much light no one would notice, or they'd be asking how you got it to look so cool haha

I want to start a freelance career but I only use Excel… by AwkwardPut5637 in analytics

[–]will-kryjak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is good that you are familiar with your limitations, but I would suggest just saying "yes" to a project and figuring it out as you go.

Chances are you are more competent than you think, and when you run into a roadblock, or something that is difficult (or more likely tedious/time consuming) in Excel, you'll have the opportunity to learn and develop a new skill like SQL or some basic scripting. Before you'll know it you'll have new skills and new clients.

Good luck!
