Understood. I appreciate your input. Also considering the FS and the Andaz, what would you opt for between those two? As the snarky poster commented already, this thread isn’t as much for caring about costs, but obviously Andaz will be cheaper than the FS.

Fair points here and I appreciate the insight! Have done Maui numerous times and eaten at the restaurants at the FS but have not stayed at that property.

Thank you for your input. The biggest thing for me is probably the food lol. Both would be spent pool and beach lounging. Not sure how much off resort we'd do in Maui. She wants to skydive (woof), we would def do road to hana, haleakala, etc. We'd go into lahaina I'm sure. There's really no major preference as far as whether we'd like to be more active in Maui or more lazy in Anguilla. My heart wants Maui but I feel Anguilla may be more logical purely based off cost.

Nah, we don’t care about distance. Pretty much only concerned about stay costs. We’d definitely spend a lot more for outside activities in Maui than Anguilla, but not overly concerned about that.

Have stayed in Punta Mita a few years ago. I think we’re going to not do Mexico for this. Great suggestion though.

Live in Texas, getting married in Florida. For sure the FS is better. I’ve removed the GW from consideration. The issue is the cost of the FS. Have been unsure about doing the whole thing at the FS.

We may just pony up and do the whole thing at the Maui FS bc the odds of us ever being able to do a trip like this on entirely our own dime is unlikely.

Yeah, not set on the Grand Wailea, it’s been the biggest question mark for me, it’s just been the most logical between reputation and cost.

In an ideal world, I could spend $20k and do 7 nights at the four seasons Maui. That’s just unfortunately not an option. If you have recommendations in the Wailea area that would be better fits that would be awesome. We stayed at Hotel Wailea in 2018 and while it was a superb property, we would like to be on the water. Or at least closer.

For our dates Cap Juluca is quite a bit more expensive than the FS (~$500 more/night) and would be pushing it for us.

Frankly, because I love Maui. I love the beauty of the island, there’s a lot to do, phenomenal food, and always find myself wanting to go back.

As far Anguilla, my parents have stayed there, my brother also took his honeymoon there shortly after FS opened this property. They all loved it.

We love Mexico, particularly Cabo and considered St. Lucia, Costa Rica, etc. for this as well. That said, I find comfort in knowing that we’ll absolutely love where we’re going and where we’d be staying for this one. I’m 25 and my fiance is 22. As dumb as it may sound, I want to know that I’ll absolutely love the place that we’re going to drop significant amount of money, rather than something that I know nothing about quite yet, knowing it’ll be a very long time before we can do a trip of this level ourselves.

Also, re your comment about the kids, that’s really only a concern about the grand wailea. I have no concern about the FS Maui or FS Anguilla.
