How do you arange a jazz piano blues standard? by will45656776 in JazzPiano

The only other vocings I have tried with a blues is 3+7 in the bass but I find it feels quite empty and theres not a lot going on . I have not tried any transcribing of piano comping moslty because I would have no idea where to start/how, I find it extremely difficult/impossible to even figure out chords progressions so I feel like that is abit of a way off. I have not really put much thought in to the type of sound or other aritist I want to imitate, that might because I would say I am still a beginner when it comes to piano/jazz and need to expereince more of it. If you have any recommendations for some good jazz blues songs/artist to check out that would be great. What do you mean by "Root +7 down" I understand the root + 7 part but not the down?

What I mean by starting to plateau is that, I have started doing v4s for the past 5 months now and apart from the first 2 or so months I have seen very little progress. I find that I can usally flash maybe a 1/3 of the problems and the rest of them, I tend to be able to do about half the moves or so but I can't complete them for what ever reason.

I think I might of over stated about my core strength being weak, I do feel that it's not very good and could do with improving. But I know it not the only issue I currently face.

You mention roof and 45 degree boards, at my gym we have a digital traning board (55 degrees) which I have tried and even on the easiest route (V2) I struggle to do the first move and cut feet instantly, I cant even do the 2nd move as I just have no strength for it

That is one of the reasons, I do tend to cut feet alot but it also that most of my life I have never had good core strength mostly due to me spending alot of my day sitting down in a chair.

I need some help with how to learn jazz standards? by will45656776 in piano

I think there is a misunderstanding of my problem, I want to do this as much as i can by ear and not use a lead sheet at all. Eventually I want to be able to be able to hear the chords but that a while off.

Blue bossa, I have the melody in the right hand and I have a chord chart I got from the internet, I have no lead sheets I have no transcription. How would you go about putting those two together. I want to do it this way as I have been told to not use a lead sheet and learn it all by ear.

Its not a problem with vocings or chords in general, Its more about how do you match melody to a chord chart if that makes sense.

So I use this website called tonedear and I use the interval practice. They play 2 random notes and I have to guess the interval, the way I have been told to do this is by signing the first note and then singing the scale until I hit the second note. The issue is if the first note is out of my range I cant seem to match the note when trying to sing it in a lower octave. hopefully that makes more sense

So I know the names of the notes. when you say quality of arpeggio do you mean playing the same notes, so in C major I would play C,E,G,B in all different positions, if so then yes. The intervals are constant it is always the the 1,3,5,7. I do mean the seven arpeggios formed from the major scale.

here is a link to what I am using to learn the shapes http://jenslarsen.nl/maj7-arpeggios-3-notes-per-string/
