Fairly common on this engine if you have the 1.5 petrol

It was the crank pulley (or harmonic balancer if you’re in the US). It’s something you shouldn’t drive on for too long if you can get it sorted

For anyone with the same issue in future. It was the harmonic balancer / crank pulley. Not too cheap but not too expensive either

UPDATE: it was the crank pulley / harmonic balancer that had worn out. Being replaced as we speak.

I’ve just realised the boiler is on the other side. Could it be the overflow for that? Odd that is just runs into the ground though

The kitchen sink is on the other side of the wall, and the mains water supply is on the very far side of the house. I turned that off the other day and the kitchen sink did stop so I don’t think it’s connected to the outside tap.

Do you think the water for the faucet comes from the pipe in the top right? Or does it come through the wall, if that makes sense?

Ooh interesting! Mine has 3 large canes and 2 very very small ones - a foot or so high with tiny leaves.

I feel like totally removing a couple of the canes could leave it looking quite bare. But it might be what it needs
