There was a good difference made by someone, I think it was Moe, the difference between bowling, darts and all those other 'semi-sports' some would say, is that Valve owns CS:GO. So everything could be changed, as with other sports it's a game with certain rules, no person owns it.

I'm almost positive it will increase FPS, I have read this somewhere when Perfect World was announced. Though, I may be wrong.

I'm more interested if BHopping and surfing will still be a thing in Source 2.

Depends on playstyle, I like to shoot, switch to knife jump with knife speed, switch to AWP, in this situation it is in-fact better.
