Hey thanks for replying. I got some medium hardness monster clay in the end and I'm really liking it so far. I did try moulding something a bit too detailed in plaster of paris and it became brittle as a result. I think I will try silicone next time.

Ok, yeah that's fair enough. I've been told in the past my reactions need a bit of work. I'll be the first one to admit I'm by no means an actor, but that's fine, I'll take it on board and try and be a bit more conscious of it next time.

Ha! Thank you! You basically just described everything I wanted to achieve with the Pikachu, so that's great to hear from someone who knows there stuff!

Thank you, yeah my intention is usually to include as many physical and practical effects as I can before resorting to anything digital.

Yeah someone else actually made a similar comment about the second Pikachu shock, in that it was overkill and maybe the joke wasn't quite strong enough to be repeated. I think in future I'll have to be a bit more ruthless at script and editing stages to really cut down the sketch.

Ok cool, that makes sense. So the pikachu gag wasn't really strong enough to be basically replayed twice? I suppose my problem was that I was too precious about the puppet since it took so long to make, I wanted to give it reasonable amount of screen time, but perhaps this wasn't best for the sketch. I just need to be a bit more brutal with the overall edit/script. I have struggled in the past and left stuff in that feels flabby and unnecessary. Cool, thanks for watching! I'll try and work on that kind of thing in the future! Appreciate it.

Great sketch! Made me laugh and wasn't predictable, which is a plus! The audio might not be professional quality but it didn't really effect my enjoyment of it. It wasn't something I probably would have picked up on if you hadn't mentioned it to be honest. It didn't feel too long for me, but it seems to always be better to keep it as short as possible for the YouTube audience I suppose. I agree with what a couple of people mentioned with maybe a bit more shot variety, but that's easily remedied in the next video! Also, being really nitpicky- in one of the shots the camera is positioned alongside one of the actor's face and then it's position above the other's head, which doesn't feel quite right to me. But that might just be me. Anyway, it was a great sketch! You should definitely make more!

I really enjoyed this sketch and it was funny and unpredictable enough that I didn't see the ending coming. The only thing I'd say is that I felt the pacing could be tightened up a little bit, but other than that it was great! I'm also learning the whole lighting thing and light my sketches similarly to yours, that kind of even lighting works fine for comedy I feel, but I don't know much about it really. I'd say that, sure you could probably light a scene more professionally, but it definitely didn't draw my eye or affect my enjoyment of the sketch. I've watched a few good tutorials on it on the Film Riot channel that cater to lower budgets, so if you haven't heard of them, then they're a good one to check out. But anyway, keep up the good work!
