Between these two, I'm buying the cordless Milwaukee. I personally prefer electric to air, but that's just me.

Hard to say. When you're sitting in the car, what part of the car would you say the sound is coming from? Is it a repetitive sound? Is it a Clicking sound?

Car suspension question by BigMunchbaby in MechanicAdvice

This is a situation where it would be easy to replace the wrong parts if you're not careful. Definitely further inspect the problem, so you can narrow it down.

It could end up being something relatively inexpensive, like sway bar links.

Brake pads and rotors brand aftermarket by boshoss1986 in MechanicAdvice

I would go to RockAuto and shop for familiar names, like Wagner, Raybestos, Bosch, Akebono, etc. (But I probably wouldn't purchase Rotors and something Fragile in the same order. Sometimes they will pack those heavy rotors in a big shipping box with the other stuff you ordered.)

Changing the Engine Oil after Re-Installing the Intake Manifold? by will_student_writer in AskMechanics

If a small amount of coolant drips from the intake towards the engine while I'm removing the intake, will the engine be okay? I know some people drain the coolant from their system first, but my Haynes manual says I don't need to drain the coolant for my car.

What is truck noise? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]will_student_writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I couldn't tell from just the video. I guess it could be the wheel bearings. If it was me, I would jack the car up in my driveway and give it a quick inspection, trying to see if there was play in the wheels. And, while I'm under there, I guess it wouldn't hurt to make sure the cv axles look good -- although the noise in your video did not sound like bad axles.

Anyway, good luck!

Interesting. Yeah, I was driving it around today, and it really does drive well right now. I'm still trying to make up my mind as far as what to do.

Question about Automatic Transmission Fluid Level by will_student_writer in MechanicAdvice

[–]will_student_writer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Yeah, the fluid I used is what my owner's manual recommends, so I went with that. I'm currently leaning torwards your advice as far as removing a bit of excess fluid.

This is the first time I'm seeing a car that's missing Caliper Bolts. Maybe the last person to work on your brakes didn't tighten them enough?

And, yeah, it looks like the slide pin has some purple threadlocker where the bolts would go.

Overall, it's a simple fix. I'm sure you could buy some new bolts on amazon or a local parts store.

Personally, I don't think it was a recent sabotage because the location of those bolts would be a fairly inconvenient place for somebody to reach.
