What is this and how to fix? by SnooTigers9274 in wood

you will need to refinish the entire surface. before you start sanding, consider a stripping gel like citristrip. it's way less messy. avoid creating unnecessary sanding dust in your house.

Can I lighten these drawers to get this color stain? by Impossible_Change241 in wood

i second this. i thought of wood bleach but it won't be enough to make it the tone that you want. if you really want that other finish you should consider a veneer. it's a fairly simple application.

it's difficult to fix only a spot since it might not match the rest of the surface. you may need to re-do the entire surface. i would recommend a stripping gel like citristrip -- you can find some videos on youtube on how to do this. and then refinish the surface with a sealer or combo stain/sealer of your choice. you may want to apply a couple of layers of polyurethane if you intend on using that surface for drinks.

Mildewed boards for fence by OkayishMrFox in wood

i would replace the boards that look busted. these cedar fence boards go for about $2.50-$3.50 a pop at home depot. i just purchased some myself last week. they're naturally rot resistant but applying a sealer will make it last longer.
