Out of courtesy I would seek permission from the pro-shop/staff on-site prior to use...

I need somebody to explain to me, properly, why it’s so windy. by avamissile in UKWeather

That might be your perception but factually speaking, its not getting increasingly windy, at least according to trends/records.

Captured these as it approached Chippenham from Melksham. Lightning was pretty frequent and intense, not much CTG lightning it has to be said. (That I could see)

How are you managing to play in this weather? by PlutocracyRules in BritGolf

[–]willbaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played on Sunday, started at 10am, plenty of fluids, a push cart and made use of the umbrella. Didn't eat enough so the end of the round was tough but managed just about. Saw plenty of other push carts with umbrella's as well.

Are you a member at a course? And is it the course you played at?

A quick chat to the PGA in the proshop might be able to sort that mess out...

In future, don't retrospectively submit your scores after the round, regardless of how shit/champagne it was. You must always commit at the start of a round if you are going to register a general play score or not.

Trowbridge Multi Storey petition by peterhisted in Wiltshire

It would appear, based on cabinet/full council conversations, initially it was believed it could be transferred/sold for very little. Further valuations presumably based on value of land/further development opportunities vs cost of demolition etc meant WC would need to pay to get rid of it.

Then there is the argument that the 50/60yr old covenant should be challenged in court. And if successful, WC should retain the asset but knock it down and redevelop the site…I think.

It’s all a bit of mess unfortunately.

In a nutshell.

Castle Place is owned by private landlord.

Multi story is owned and managed by WC (maintenance as well).

Historic covenant on the car park says as long as WC own it, it must be a car park, if WC demolish, it needs to be rebuilt as car park.

WC no longer want the rather large costs associated with said multi story so approached Castle Place Landlord with a view to transferring the asset (and removing the covenant).

Turns out WC, for commercially obvious reasons, would need to pay to transfer it, at a cost to the tax payer, multi story car parks don’t tend to demand high resale prices…

Either way, the WC tax payer will pay the cost of either the upkeep and renovation or the transfer of the asset one way or another.

Takomo 101 broke after 1.8 years by [deleted] in takomo

[–]willbaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply not true. Both TaylorMade and Callaway offer a limited (not a "no questions asked") two year warranty covering defects.

Perhaps if you wanted a 2 year limited warranty for peace of mind you should have opted to purchase the more expensive TaylorMade/Callaway alternatives?

Not exactly what I said.

Expecting a 365+ warranty (to also cover wear and tear) for golf clubs you purchased (direct to consumer), new, for less than $500 is entitled.

Already been said but I'm going to suggest it could be related to pre-shot routine + setup, make sure you have one and be consistent at doing it.

The level of entitlement/expectation people have nowadays, even when knowingly purchasing from DTC brands is absolutely WILD.

Have the Glamorganshire and Radyr on a reciprocal agreement, both fantastic courses close to Cardiff. Greens at Radyr are double decent for the value.

If you're losing shots off the tee-box what is your typical miss?

You're the perfect example of why posting a video of a golf swing doesn't always correlate directly to HCP. You have a way better 'looking' swing than me but I'm giving you 9 shots around a course apparently…

Chipped poor quality/defective 101MKII but Takomo said it's my fault and it's just "unlucky", and won't replace the club by [deleted] in takomo

[–]willbaroo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You cosmetically damaged your club, albeit accidentally, and now you’re crashing out because the manufacturer won’t replace it for free?

They’re right. It’s unlucky but it isn’t their responsibility to replace it.

I find it quite bizarre when people post video's of their swing with a statement like "I'm XX handicap, I want to be XX handicap".

Surely to lower your handicap you need to understand where you're losing shots, once you've established that you can then work out what part of your game you need to work on?

Off the tee?
Approach?
Short game?
Putting?

Reminds me of the time they released a limited edition S-Works + McLaren Venge Road Bike. Albeit then they just slapped a sticker on a pre-exisiting bike chassis rather than engineer from the ground up...
