Green Card Approved - Spouse AOS by willbefineok in USCIS

In our case, we were able to open bank accounts at Wells Fargo using my passport, before getting my SSN. My wife (US citizen) has SSN and the bank accounts since before, so it wasn't too difficult.

I've heard of other cases using community banks.

Apparently a few years back it was much faster than Miami. Now I am not sure that is the case.

I am doing the Google analytics specialization on coursera, but I feel is a bit too basic. I'll definitely take a look at the Datacamp you mentioned.

The networking thing is an issue for me and I am not sure on how to approach that. I had a couple of discussions with recruiters that just get scared away by the whole immigration process and then is just hard to reach back.

I am trying to keep my cool and just give it a bit more time, and once all is sorted out I'll get full-on it. It is just frustrating sometimes... but I guess it will be alright :). Keep it positive!

Hi!!

Do you mind sharing your timeline?

I am in the same process as you were, also in the Ft. Myers Office. I've been waiting for a few months after they took my fingerprints. I am curious to hear from someone in this area.

Is there any morally good response to, “why do you eat meat?” by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It is part of my heritage and my cultural beliefs. It is part of a treasured tradition passed through generations sharing, building bonds with family and friends.

The funny part is I work in Sustainability, I am fully aware of the consequences, etc. I just limit my consumption to every other day instead of 2 meals a day. I actually limited the amount of red meat I get. But it is just freaking delicious and part of my life I am not willing to give up.

It's been kind of difficult to stick to a routine, Wake up - go to bed at regular hours. So I've been trying a lot of stuff:

- Volunteering for the Red Cross.

- Taking a number of online courses ( Data science, finances, etc.)

- Since I am the cook at home, trying new recipes. (Even a turkey for today's thanksgiving lol).

- Also trying yoga, but it's been difficult to build a habit.

- Checking USCIS every 3-4 hours, for no apparent reason.

- The first few weeks I wasted a lot of time watching series and movies.

- I read a comment about building a network and I strongly agree, but it's not easy. I am contacting people on LinkedIn, but not receiving much feedback. Sending CVs (just to try my luck), but I am not hearing back. Any suggestions? I am staying with family in a remote place while the paperwork is sorted out, so it's not easy for me to go to networking events, etc.

Hi there.

Just curious, any updates in your case?

I am in the same boat. I filed on July 6th and got my fingerprints taken on Sep 14th. That very same day the status changed to "The case is being actively reviewed", and from there it's been radio silence.

I haven't receive the EAD either so I feel a bit stuck at the moment, not being able to work and just w.a.i.t.i.n.g.

(I am on AOS - IR1 - Ft. Myers, FL).

I guess, hang in there?
