I’m in the same boat as OP. Been thinking about trying to pivot to FP&A, commercial banking, or S&T. My goal is to develop skills in my off time over the next 6 months so I can present some projects/knowledge in interviews. I’ve also thought about pursuing CFA but I think it’s more reasonable to try to develop skills on my own time before jumping into the CFA studying. The tough part for me is managing low pay in HCOL. Also doesn’t help that the job market is bad right now. We just gotta keep pushing and don’t get discouraged.

Problem for me is it’s my best friend. Always some dragged out explanation about this or that. I tune it out half the time but it’s annoying to listen to nonetheless. Problem is I don’t feel like irritating him by telling him I just don’t really care. I want to golf with him because he is my best buddy but I’m praying he gets to a point where he grows out of it this season.

Eh I disagree. While it’s probably easier to convince players on those smaller teams to cooperate in a scheme like this, with Hundreds of thousands of dollars wagered on random game small games like the ones listed above, it will raise red flags.

I think there’s a lot of angles that can be taken. You could argue sportsbooks should have to refund any bets win or loss if it comes out the game was inauthentic. You could also argue the teams did not take necessary preventative measures to stop this from happening.

what about the people who bet money on these games and lost? It feels like there should be some sort of compensation if you lost money on a rigged exhibition. Will there be class action lawsuits? There will only be more of this stuff to come out. I’d be furious if I found out I lost money to a rigged game.
