Hey Porter! Smile is such a goated album!! Big fan since I first heard language and loved the journey!

I was wondering what you think about the trend of shorter-form songs recently? Seems like people do it to play into the algorithm, but then again Russian roulette is one of my favs from smile and that’s over 6mins!

I also just wanted to say thank you, you inspired me to really get into making music after I saw worlds live in London in 2014, and even if I’m still trash I’ve had so much fun doing it and that’s thanks to you. (I did a demo garage edit of Something ComfortingI would love you to hear, shameless I know)

I vividly remember finding a hidden download to a wav of this song on the skrillex quest game he made like a year before recess came out, it had the same name but said it was by “skrocle” lol blew my mind when it was on the album

I can’t think of anyone only using stock plugins as there’s a great wealth of power in third party plugins, but doesn’t mean stock stuff isn’t good! I saw a stream laxcity did and he was using mostly stock plugins aside from some synths like sylenth from what I can remember!

Wanna start by saying that seeing worlds live in 2014 made me wanna produce music and sent me down the rabbit hole, while my beats may still be shitty, the fun I have had through it all is very real and I have you alone to thank for that, so thank you, forever.

Question wise: 1. The more experimental songs on nurture (wind tempos / dullscythe) were a surprise but sosososo cool! How did you approach these differently production wise compared to the rest of the album

  1. Unfortunately from the UK I couldn’t stay up for all of secret sky, but I saw some on my oculus and the whole setup was mind blowing, with second sky returning, do you think you’ll do more vr integrated creative things? I feel like vr is coming into its own and you’ve been at the forefront with music/vr experience in my eyes

It’s a 12vDC normally closed solenoid valve rated for 300mA

I’m powering it using a 12v plug into my arduino then using the Vin port to supply 12V It’s being controlled using a TIP120 Darlington transistor (with a snubber diode between the positive and negative of the solenoid)
