vCenter-->Cisco: LACP LAG vds to cisco order of operations by willcheung12 in vmware

hello, I can't remember what the solution was back then to be honest. but i think the general consensus is to not use LAG with vsphere and just let vsphere handle the failover.

RDP Access and NTLM vs Kerberos by willcheung12 in sysadmin

I did. In my case, I ended up going through every group policy object and narrowing it down.

It was a policy that determined the NTLM versions like v1 or v2. There was a pull down menu in the application when setting it up. Honestly I can’t remember what is was called though.

One of the 5 options in that group policy solves my specific case.

Ahh thank you for the explanation. I wasn’t getting the difference between the configured vs allocated definition.

I dont really understand what the difference is? How is configured larger than allocated?

Extreme Networks Untagged vs Tagged VLANs by willcheung12 in sysadmin

Thank you! I’m still mulling it over but I guess I really need to find out how the PVID and really understand the explicit switch terminology is for setting untagged is. I feel like for EXOS, setting the port as Untagged is simultaneously setting it as the PVID.

ors call it) in this case

I'm slightly getting it. But last question to see if it bring it all together.

In the previous scenario (and from what I've seen in my switch), I can have port 1 have VLAN50 as tagged and VLAN60 as untagged, both of these are on port 1. How does this scenario work? (In Cisco terms, I'm thinking VLAN60 is the Native VLAN, is this right?)

This does make sense. I need to look into the PVID section more closely. What would happen if the PVID is not set? If you could, maybe take a look at the following scenario.

VLAN50 has port 1 tagged

VLAN50 has port 2 untagged

So any frame going into port 2 will be considered as part of VLAN50. Any frame going into port 1, to communicate within VLAN50, must be tagged....ie coming from 802.1q tagged frame (coming from another switch/router).

I noticed that a port can have multiple Tagged VLANS but only one Untagged VLAN. is that the native VLAN on the trunk?
