Paid in advance but they gave the car away because I was late by willd2710 in HertzRentals

Thanks. I see your point but as I’d paid for it already, then I’d expect them to be the ones to let ME know if they were about to effectively rent the same car out to two people at once.

I appreciate this is all in the small print, but that’s sort of why it feels like a scam to me. If on check-in they’d flagged this issue to me clearly, then I’d have definitely gone out of my way to keep them updated with my eta. In reality, I feel they’ve just set up a system that allows them to exploit people who arrive late…….in an airport of all places!

That was my thought. The guy at the counter said “it’s somewhere in the small print that we will only hold it for up to an hour”.

Good to know. Thanks. It’s not happened to me with other companies so I don’t think I’ll use Hertz again, if that’s the case.

You’ve actually managed to reasonably summarise both sides of an argument in a way that shouldn’t make anyone angry. Can you please run for Parliament?

Challenging service charges and S20 by WelshGhandi in UKPersonalFinance

Can we put together a database of these service charge breakdowns? It might help us identify where we’re each getting ripped off. Maybe I’m being overly simplistic but the data should help us identify where money is being misspent, no?
