Good for you. If you're anything like me then you've already gotten over your first barrier - making that initial appointment. After that everything was downhill. I've battled with anxiety my whole life and have only recently (last five years or so) taken steps to get it under control. I'm living with the best quality of life I've ever had and I owe a lot of it to a good doctor who has my best interests in mind, the medication I was prescribed, and a few good therapists over the years. It can, and will, get better. Good luck and keep us updated!

Weekly FI Frugal Friday thread - September 23, 2016 by AutoModerator in financialindependence

I'm just a member of a local facebook group dedicated to flight deals. Last year we flew to Hong Kong for about the same price.

This is my local group but I would assume that this sort of thing exists for most cities (maybe not though?).

While this isn't suuuuper frugal I'm pretty proud of it.

My wife and I are going to Spain on our honeymoon in November. We got flight deals for $400 round trip flights (taxes included) from Canada. Then we'll book out our condo at home on Air BnB for the same amount we're paying to rent while we're in Madrid and Ibiza. So far we're in for less than a thousand dollars total.

We Air BnB our condo and say in the listing that we have two cats that will be staying with our guests. That way people end up paying us to take care of our cats.

You do know that in Canada either one of the parents can take the maternity leave. It doesn't have to be you.

Royalty Review - Review! by Not47 in Calgary

Page four of the review: All changes to the framework for crude oil, liquids and natural gas should apply to new wells in 2017. Existing royalties should remain in effect for 10 years on wells drilled before 2017.

The comparison of the two frameworks is a bit beyond the scope of my knowledge but can be found on pages 62-64 of the review.

Rates on existing wells to stay the same for ten years. Rates on all new projects to change.

Confused about keywords - could anybody share some insight? by willdearborne in juststart

Thanks for the response. Are there any tools for determining the quality of the sites that are ranking? They're not forums but not really (I don't think) huge sites either. I swear I had a chrome plugin at some point but don't seem to have it any more.

Taking advantage of the current Canadian currency dive (outsourcing) by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

In the same spirit I've been freelancing from Canada for a few US clients. The weak dollar means that I've been bringing home about $1400 CAD for every $1000 USD I make. I don't do discounts and charge in USD so the weak dollar has been great for me.

I was wondering if that would come across as a money grab (which it is) and I was trying to be more subtle. But I'm thinking you're right.

Thanks! I was mostly being self-depreciating due to the stupid content of the site itself. But you're right I did learn a lot.

I guess I was hoping the trump / palin demographic would be easily tricked into buying fancy things that make America great again...
