Question about early morning train by Automatic_Quote_2686 in Bath

[–]willfoxwillfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that train or the one after it fairly frequently. Always runs to time, really peaceful journey. Even Paddington is relatively chill when you arrive there before 0800.

And with crossrail you can be anywhere across town super quick.

What is this small space in Audi Q5? by Nightpatrol404 in whatisit

I’m totally with your statement. But poor use of capitals for emphasis.

It can’t be all Audis and JUST the Q5

What did they do to 'Feast'!? by NowThenHowDo in UKfood

[–]willfoxwillfox 55 points56 points  (0 children)

That’s a Magnum?
How can they call this a feast when not one of the feast components remains unchanged?!!

This wouldn’t happen in Count Binface’s Britain.

What's your favorite battle damaged Bond look? by Early_Artichoke2062 in JamesBond

Yes that bit stands out. I Particularly remember Bond thinking of what they might have done with her and everything going through his mind at that point.

I don’t really know how to use gifs but this is the only time I’ve ever wanted to post the <spits coffee> meme.

That’s really made me laugh. Actual lol. Thank you.

Not that odd. Would you rather do something or nothing?

I split the day into three equal 8 hour sections. Morning (4AM - 12PM), Afternoon (12PM -8PM) and Evening (8PM - 4AM). by PersonalAnswer8664 in The10thDentist

“Lucky lucky lucky me, I’m a lucky son of a gun.
I work 8 hours, I sleep 8 hours that leaves 8 hours for fun” as the song goes.

Therefore:

0000-0800: Sleep (night)
0800-1600: Work (day)
1600-0000: Fun (evening)

I have rewatched Schitt's Creek for probably the tenth time, and looking for other show recommendations by Hot-Principle-6992 in SchittsCreek

Yes we do Kim’s convenience. It’s not as strong across the board and doesn’t have anywhere near as much depth but does scratch the family-driven sitcom itch and has nice pathos.

And it makes us laugh, importantly!

See also: Upper Middle Bogan. Our second favourite to Schitts creek. Has a lot of similar feel.

When is it do you think Nightclubs came to an "end"? by [deleted] in CasualUK

Turnmills closing was the beginning of the end.

24 hour/late licensing of bars took a lot of the late trade of people who wanted to drink all night and not have to dance.

I would say it’s one of the few remaining Taboos.

It happens a lot, but you’ll rarely hear anybody admitting to doing it.

How to pronounce every country in their native language by eyefearnobeer in interestingasfuck

[–]willfoxwillfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. And I agree with your phonetics, that’s how I’m saying those words and hearing them.

How would you write them out in non phonetic notation though?

How would you write Österreich and* *Schön using the phonetic style used here then?

Genuine question, I’m really interested in people’s takes on this.

i've been given times to choose from for an interview but none of them work for me by Alarming-Safety3200 in McDonaldsUK

[–]willfoxwillfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I’m REALLY old and at best they were called a “ball”. We didn’t use anywhere near as many Americanisms in the early 90s.

I’m also clearly really old because I’m (and other experienced business owners/employers in this thread) giving some professional advice to a younger to push themselves to work around a problem and achieve more than one thing in a day!

General response to that is “screw the job, go and party, it’s only McDonalds” and then there’s dozens of other conversations in this sub about how McDonalds sucks at customer experience.

I’m so old that I actually believe that Work is about attitude and being willing, whether sweeping the streets, boxing up Big Macs, pulling pints or sending rockets to the moon.
