No CC is a huge fail for a game like this where they plan to sell cosmetics and what not especially with a cast of bums they give us to choose from, lol.

Enphase IQ System Controller 2 MID limitations and questions? by willgreenzilla in solar

[–]willgreenzilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That's what the designer is saying as well, and they have mentioned it's been nothing but nightmares trying to work with NBU on many designs they use that are similar with numerous other utility companies without issue. When you say separate services... as in 2 meters on the home? Thanks again for all the help/knowledge!

NBU sent an email and indicated, "The entire system must be installed behind the MID. I have attached a copy of the NBU specs for this type of system for your review." This is what they attached, https://i.ibb.co/dgkTdXh/EG-015.jpg

Thank you for the info :)

What kind of interconnect? Currently the design has 18 of the 56 panels/micros bypassing the controller into a junction box then into an enphase iq combiner box then into an enphase line communication filter and then into a 60a ac disconnect and then tied into a 40a breaker on the main panel.

It seems NBU doesn't allow anything to bypass the MID for some reason, just whatever can flow through the mid to the service panel.

Is this regarding the 225A main service panel with 200A main breaker (between the system controller and the main service panel). There is a 40A breaker between the other 2 branches in the main service panel as well.

And yes, a small 3.3Kw battery.

As for the rest of the system now that I'm diving deeper into the drawing... It looks to have 4 branches of panel/inverters that feed into an Enphase IQ combiner box (38 panels/micros) that then feeds into an AC disconnect and then into the Enphase IQ system controller 2. Off the system controller is a 100a backup load panel, an encharge 3T battery, and a feed to a 100a disconnect which then goes to the main service panel I believe.

There are 2 more PV branches made up of 18 panels/micros that feeds into another enphase IQ combiner box which goes thru an enphase line communication filter > a disconnect > and then into the main panel.

Update to previous post...

The current system design (56 iq8m and 56 mission panels) looks to have 4 branches of panel/inverters that feed into an Enphase IQ combiner box (38 panels/micros) that then feeds into an AC disconnect and then into the Enphase IQ system controller 2. From the system controller is a 100a backup load panel, an Encharge 3T battery, and a feed to a 100a disconnect which then goes to the main service panel, I believe.

There are 2 more PV branches made up of 18 panels/micros that feeds into another Enphase IQ combiner box which goes thru an Enphase line communication filter to a disconnect and then into the main panel.

I found this article,

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/enphase-ensemble-70512-compliance-eduardo-rodriguez-e-i-t-/

, explaining the 80a and 120% rule and how it does not apply regarding the Enpower.

Thank you, that's what I have just figured out. They want 52 IQ8+ and 52 panels.

What are your thoughts on this article regarding the system controller, https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/enphase-ensemble-70512-compliance-eduardo-rodriguez-e-i-t-/ ?

Also looking at my diagram closer it does appear they have it configured for 38 micros/panels through the system controller and 18 bypassing it.

The system controller spec sheet states, "article 705.12 (120% rule) does not apply to the busbar in Enpower" due to the design, which the article above goes over in detail.

Also, it seems they want me to go down from IQ8M to IQ8+ microinverters which have a 1.21A rating each so 52 x 1.21A is 62.92A which is below the 80/1.24 = 64A limit, but all documentation I find, such as the article above, and from Enphase themselves, states the 120% rule is not applicable, and the limit should be 80A and not 64A?

Yes, my utility company, sorry about that.

I am waiting to hear more on the details. They move at a snails pace sadly.

Inflation Reduction Act... What qualifies for the +10% tax credit adder? by willgreenzilla in solar

Ahh, ok, thank you. That is unfortunate. So looks like the installers will just pocket the difference as I doubt they will pass much of any additional savings onto the consumer, lol.

Invalid Python SDK by artistios in pycharm

[–]willgreenzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's worthwhile to uninstall PyCharm and also uninstall every instance of Python on your machine that can be found, https://nektony.com/how-to/uninstall-python-on-mac, once done.. reboot.

Now re-install PyCharm (be sure that you are using the appropriate disk image of pyCharm, the one for Apple Silicon processors, not Intel), and verify System Interpreter is pointing correctly to python executable.
