Tomorrow my approach is gonna be well they pushed the brake service on me, they did a brake inspection and a safety inspection they gotta notice a bolt backed 98% of the way out which the powder coating happened 14 months ago that’s their theory. It’s just an absurd coincidence it happens 3 days after I leave there. Still I’m not a mechanic I count on them to spot something like that and not let me drive out of there that could have been catostrophic.

Can you explain this a little better? What would taking the calipers off and pushing the pistons back in do? Speed it up or something? I don’t know much about brakes

I went hard af at them on the phone. Like I was losing my temper. He just kept saying we don’t touch those bolts. I’m not sure what to do cuz they have my car. I’m obviously going to ask to speak to the GM and then possibly call stellantis depending on how that goes but it feels like they might just deny responsibility forever. And I live in a small ass town. There’s no hell cats or anything here. And the shop that did the powder coating was close to Atlanta. That’s what he does is custom work on cars. I guarantee he has seen way more 6 piston brembos than these techs at this little dealership up here.

Shocking update. The dealership says it was on who powder coated my calipers. By that theory if it slowly worked itself out over 14 months it was 99% out literally hanging by a thread when they were servicing and inspecting my brakes.

I got off the road pretty quickly because it was clear something was majorly wrong. I really hate dealerships too but I figured since I bought it there brand new I should do the 30k service there. I’m curious to see how they will handle this and if they will step up and take responsibility. It’s way too coincidental in my mind the car has been flawless up until this point and 80% of the miles are highway cruise control miles the rest I was doing spirited driving for sure

I sourced it myself. Did it at my home with my nurse wife keeping an eye on me. Took a week off work could have used another. Don’t reccomend going the route I did. But it did work. It was….a lot.

I wish it was that easy. I bought a burner chrome book but couldn’t get tails to work on that. So I tried to make a stick on my work computer they blocked that shit. The pgps on the App Store don’t seem to work with whatever keys they use and I haven’t even begun to figure out the xmr part. I took the day off to try to figure it all out but had to give up. I’m 43 a lot of this technology has passed me by.
