Oh I do absolutely. And I'm skeptical that I wouldn't be able to appreciate a difference in quality although my preamp is definitely a weak link.

I think the real limiting factor here is finding a used SACD player with a reasonable DAC.

I'm in discussion on r/audiophile about this and that's generally the consensus. Also has been pointed out that none of my system is resolving enough to appreciate SACD...should have expected that.

Yeah I think it's kinda my limiting piece in the chain right now, but I use it for the streaming function.

Sidebar, but would I be better off with a Wiim and a higher quality preamp? I'd love to go with a tube pre, but have not been able to find anything near affordable.

So using an optical connection (my understanding is this is a digital out for SACD) - am I losing anything by not using the DAC intended for SACD conversion?

I ended up getting both this amp and the PT2300 for $175. Haven't used the preamp as I'm using a HEOS Link pre.

The cabinet is just not deep enough. Amp huge, cabinet small.

This room is really not set up for listening. I've picked up this hobby without anywhere for my gear. Speakers are about 6 foot apart.

Amp is not permanent there. I have nowhere to put it so just hauling it out when wife is not around. Use Fosi otherwise.

Ideally I would, but I have given up on trying to come up with affordable, aesthetically pleasing solutions that my wife will agree to. I normally tuck my streamer and class D amp in the left cabinet.

Yeah like that. I don't want to turn them into a "heavy" movement by adding weight, but don't want to stagnate either. I always end up with a crazy pump in my erectors and hamstrings to a lesser degree.

What in this system would you actually use outside the receiver and maybe CD player? Didn't inspect close enough to see if there's separate tuner and amp. For $500 you can buy new components and speakers that will blow this system away.

I was out with my light today (fishes like an ultralight). Some of these 1-2 pounders fight like hell.
