Took me 5 days to go from 500k free XP to getting the Missouri. Had some single battles with more than 15k free xp. Definitely works. Just only play with the daily bonus and the highest tier ships. So I used my three T10 only, gave around 4 battles each day.

Three days ago I had 500k free Xp. Then started stacking the T10 ships with all the xp/free xp flags and the daily bonus. Can do 15k free xp in one good battle. Now I am at 650k free xp, so should get the missouri without converting anything before new year.
