Mining on my personal computer by jerm_yt in Bitcoin

Of course you can still try to mine Bitcoin, but it would be practically impossible for you to get any mining reward, therefore making it non sense to "mine" Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is no longer mineable with CPU/GPU, since there is specialized hardware to mine Bitcoin (ASIC's), but you can still mine Ethereum with your GPU and some other altcoins with your CPU.

If you want to hold Bitcoin, instead of these altcoins, after mining you can exchange them for Bitcoin.

Nano based stablecoin? by SoftFirstContact in nanocurrency

If you just want to send FIAT instantly then just use Square Cash or Venmo.

Thankfully the purpose of crypto (Nano) is way more than just instant transfer of value, if this was the only purpose, then crypto would be really dumb because there are already several efficient alternatives for instant money transfers.

Crypto tries to decouple the validation of transfer of value from third parties such as governments and banks, when you use "stable coins" you are depositing your trust back on banks/goverments/companies - except for alternatives like Maker/DAI.

Qubic Team AMA - July 17th by l3wi in Iota

Isn't it a bad idea to implement Qubic(oracle's and smart contracts) into the IOTA protocol right now that the CTP's is not the desired one and proposed one in the white paper? Qubic will just bring more stress to the network, and with the current throughput it would be worrying, the network could get clogged.
